[IC] T-shirts / Polos / Sweaters / Beanies
« on: Tue, 15 January 2013, 16:33:28 »
Hey all,

I work for a T-shirt Screen Printing and Embroidery company.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe a tee/polo with a small Geekhack logo?
Or even a Tee with a print of each of the MX switches on.

This is just a vague interest check.

If people are interested then I can get the artwork done pretty quickly and post some pics up along with prices.

Obviously the more interest there is the cheaper the garments will be.
However they won't be too expensive at all.

Please post what kind of garment you would be interested in and what kind of logo/artwork.

Thanks
Liam

Eg. Tee - Screen Printed
Poloshirt - Embroidered  etc..

EDIT: If we do a geekhack tee/polo then we can give a dollar or two from each one as a donation to the site, just to raise some funds etc.

I don't use Photoshop at all but put together some mock ups quickly.
I took the "geekhack" logo/font from the wristrest group buy thread, I hope that's ok.

Let me know what you people think?

Tee shirts with Left breast print and back ass print.

Poloshirt with just Left breast print.

Beanies.

Does your company do jerseys? Examples: Team CLG, Team Glock.

Cause I think this idea to have GH shirts/jerseys rather neat. Far as logo/artwork nothing specific.

We can get in pretty much any garment to print on, some turn out better than other depending on material.

I didn't mention Jerseys as I assumed people only really wore them as part of a clan/team at LAN's or gaming events as such.
Or am I totally getting confused and not understanding what a jersey is?

The way most GH GB's work, you'll get a beanie for next winter :))

But flynn has a good point, beanies are awesome.

And if you plan on using the GH name, I think you'll need to contact iMav, but he'll probably pop his head in soon.

We call them toques up here folks! And would love a black toque with white GeekHack writing on the rim. And a nice big toque at that!

Would love a nice GH T-shirt, but what I'd really like is that "Wanna Switch" design with the cherry switch diagram. I think those are up on some UK site iirc.

Beanies would be embroidered.
Personally my favourite and they look pretty smart.
Turn around could literally be a week on those.

Here are some examples of beanies I've done in the past month or two just to show the quality of the stitching.

I'd definitely be in for some merch. I'd like a shirt more than a beanie since I can only show off my Fandom in the winter if I buy a beanie

I vote sweaters and polos.

Nicknames + Geekhack logo?

Sadly each nickname would be a no go really as their is a initial cost per logo much like a new legend cost when doing a keyset with SP.

However if people REALLY wanted it then I could get names heat press on but it would be a lot longer to do each one individually etc logistics wise.

Maybe polos with a Cherry cherry logo embroidered.

I could do this very easily however, I'm not sure If Cherry would mind us doing that? I'm not sure on the copyright laws for that? We wouldn't be making any money from their logo..as it would only be for us? Have to look into it.

Thanks for all the interest so far and positivity around this.

I shall do some mock ups after work today and get them pput up for beanies and polos/tees etc.

Hahaha fair enough, I only did that mock up as most people that come to us with a name/logo on the left breast also have it at the bottom on the back.

And this is exactly what this IC is for, to hear your opinions.
Black on black with a bigger logo on the front!

Black on black doesn't come out to great, I know it's very "smart" or "sleek" when say Ralph Lauren or Fred Perry or whatever do it, But not sure it would look great for geekhack.

I can also do a mockup of a polo with just "gh" on the front left brest with a bit larger logo if you think that'll look good?

We could, However it's a very detailed design and has lots of colours.
2 things which don't work great with embroidery.

We could simplify the picture into less colours.

We would also need his approval.
