So is this set just a fleeting dream?

Don't count on seeing it this summer, but the plan is for it to be made.
Right now I would still like to add to the non standard layout kit. Then I'll need to make some "final" mockups of everything, to be able to really see what kind of interest we can get for it.
Once we know about how many people are going to want it, we'll be able to workout the details with a manufacturer.

This not happening right away helps right now with the wallet but I love this set. Can't wait for it to get made.

Hi guys I'm sorry for not giving many updates as of late, but I've been way too busy with life and work.
I still really want to see this set come to life, and I've worked on the mockups.

Here you can see the latest versions of all kits.

Please let me know if there are any missing keys (or ones that you'd like to see added). As of now the non standard kit can support JD40, HHKB, 1800, and 75% layouts. Please let me know if there are any other layouts that you would like to see added, within a limit of about 5 extra keys. Sorry for those that wanted an ErgoDox option, it will not be possible as of now since I don't think there will be enough demand for it (I would like one for myself).
I'm also thinking of adding the color kit to the non standard kit. It would allow to simplify things and give better chances to both kits. So please let me know what you think.

I also really would appreciate your help on spreading the word about this set. Until we have enough demand for it, it will never be able to see the light of day

this will have to go through JTkeycaps if you want the cherry keycaps, but I assume you will since you are using their basic mockup-outlines as well

Also why are there 1.25 <> keys?

Would really love a 1.25x Fn.  Many, if not most, 60% boards use that.

Is there a way to add LED windows keys?

If the manufacture that is used offers them, I will be sure to make some available.

this will have to go through JTkeycaps if you want the cherry keycaps, but I assume you will since you are using their basic mockup-outlines as well

Also why are there 1.25 <> keys?

Just after starting this thread, I asked Bunny if it would be possible to have JTK manufacture the set. He told me that as of now they were not taking any orders, but that maybe someday in the future he might be open for custom GB orders. He was also very nice and let me use his template to make some better looking mockups.
The 1.25u > and ? keys are for the JD40 layout.

Yeah, any update on the profile of this set? I may have missed it in a previous post as well.

Still aiming for Cherry, but if it's not possible I'll have to fall back on DCS

Is there any chance of a DE QWERTZ pack? I would totally buy if it had one.

If we do that, we'll have to add them for other languages too. I don't think there will be enough demand for them to justify the extra cost.

Would really love a 1.25x Fn.  Many, if not most, 60% boards use that.

Thanks!
I almost forgot it. I was going to add in this mockup, but it looks like I added an extra 1u Fn and an extra 1.25u Shift. Those two keys will be replaced by a 1.25u Fn key in the next mockup.

I keep reading this as my name :X

You seem to be very self centered :))
I named the set without thinking too much about it. Later found out that Siso in Portuguese means wisdom, and thought it was cool and a good fit for the set.

Prophetic. We need Sifo keyset. Blue on blue with blue on blue mods.

Now I want to see a blue on blue set

Is this GMK Sky Dolch your Siso set on MD or is this being run by someone else?

https://www1.massdrop.com/buy/gmk-sky-dolch

Nope not the same one or from me, but both had some inspiration from the SoWaRe and Dolch sets.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit bummed out that that set is being made because it will just make it that much harder for my Siso set to reach a MOQ.

Pretty sure that's someone else, personally I like the look of Siso better

Thanks, and I hope more people think like you do

+1 for the Siso; in a bit GMK'd out at the moment (blasphemy, but so be it) and the SP DCS fit nicely on my hhkb without the cherry-clack problem. :thumb:

i like the color-way. i have a question is whether this legend-color exist in GMK or SP?
IF not in GMK, we need to customalize the color like TA, and need more to meet MOQ

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates lately. But I used to do a lot of the work for this set on my down times at the office. Things at work have been crazy as of late, and I don't have as much time as I used to.
I still plan on working on this set and seeing it come to life, however things will slow down for a bit for now. Additionally, with some people complaining about the quality of GMK going down I would like to see some more sets before finding a final manufacture.

I'll be sure to post as soon as I have something new.
And thanks to everyone for supporting this project  :)

People think GMK is going down? I thought it was just Triumph Adler with the packaging and custom colors. I haven't heard any complaints otherwise.

Yeah, everyone is saying hyperfuse is right back to the old GMK standard. I suspect it was an isolated incident, but you can always wait for Classic Beige to finish if you're really worried.

If possible I would like to have this used for the Win key. But seeing that I would like this set to be made in doubleshot, it would make this very hard to do (hard = expensive)

Hopefully, you can include two of the standard Windows 8 logo keyscaps as well...

I'd say JT + Bunny is the best option, cost wise, plus we will be supporting a great effort to have an actual alternative to GMK, at a far better price. Going SP will make this set to be in the cheap echelon of key caps.

You should check if JT already has ISO support, though. And I do not know if it would be a good deal for them to go the MD route, for higher volume of sales. Those new JT molds have to be paid with as long runs as possible.

I really like the colour of this one.  I understand ideally you want Cherry profile.

Unfortunately I'm not a fan of Cherry profile and most of the time they also don't play well with Costar stabilizers (which most of my keyboards are).

So would be amazing if you can maybe run another run of this in SA profile (all row 3 all flat) one either before or after your Cherry profile run.

SA is still widely popular at the moment so I don't suppose it would be too hard to hit the numbers.

But either case I hope this succeeds !  :thumb:

...most of the time they also don't play well with Costar stabilizers (which most of my keyboards are).

I haven't had any trouble with costar stabs and cherry profile sets. Can you elaborate about the problems you have had or heard of?

Could you add a 1.25x Fn or blank to one of the sets?  Most 60% boards use it, incl all generations of Pokers I believe.
I'm back.

It's mentioned here and here.

Though to be fair this applies to ALL thick keycaps (Except SA) not just Cherry profile.

So if you want thick keycaps you're limited to using Cherry stabilizer.  Though some people get lucky and they don't notice the grind on Costar stabilized keyboards.

I guess I'm biased because I like Costar stabilizer haha (yes I've tried clipped Cherry stabilizer too, still not the same).

I like also Costar stabs, but it is a pain to change key caps; besides, clipped Cherry stabs feel pretty good, and they are more change friendly. Thank you for the reference.

I'm with you brah.  I do prefer Costar, but don't like dealing with the side effects.  So I just use clipped Cherry most of the time.

Thicker wire diameters make Cherry a more robust mechanism, and you have the choice to use plate or PCB mounted ones, also their plastic inserts are better designed.
