[IC]Revo HHKB layout kit
« on: Thu, 08 December 2016, 05:08:24 »
Hi, Guys

Long time no see,i've been busy lately. There is a good news.We have made contact with the Apple Macbook pro Anode Factory. Now we can have some next level anode.

That being said,we decided to try it first. So we brought back our ancient project the HHKB. It's a shame we didn't do it right the first time. It's such an beautiful layout,so i wanna run it again.

I have run a very private GB in China earlier,so i have some pictures here:
154954-0
154956-1
154958-2
154960-3
154962-4
154964-5
154966-6
154968-7
154970-8
154972-9

So, what do you guys think?

Damn, the anodizing looks amazing. But I never was a fan of MX HHKBs.
Which PCB will you offer with this? Will it be a common one or something you made yourselves?

Just do what you want to do to my wallet. I will not scream 'RAPE'!
I was just wondering, did you already need to get a larger house for all the stuff you bought this year?

Common PCB. GH60 bface all fine. I didn't decide which one to use in the kit yet. I want to make a little surprise. ;D

Let's make a deal. You sell me keyboard to fill my house and I buy a larger one when you succeed :)
So far, I am an expert at storing keyboards efficiently:

Oh yeah one more questions. Will this be a fixed layout board again?
Since this will aim at HHKB layouts, I won't even ask for ISO enter but could you allow split _LEFT_ shift for ISO users?

It looks gorgeous!
Because the spacebar is a 7u spacebar, not the 6u one. So that's HHKB-style instead of true HHKB, right?

One thing to confirm: does one need to cut the PCB at the block corners like the scenario of installing an Eagle PCB into a Viper case?

Oh wow these additional pics are very convincing.

If it supports screw-in weights, please offer them as an option during the GB :)

Also, the AltGr key goes on the right side of the space bar  :p

Right,just HHKB-style.

About the pcb, i dont know about Eagle's PCB.But if you use GH60 or faceu or Bface, there is no cutting anywhere. Besides, you don't have to use plate in this one.

First,i don't think screw-in weight is good idea for a 60%. I don't know. You can convince me to do it. I am always open to suggestions.BTW I am trying to add an optional acrylic layer in.
About the layout, i'll make sure we support ISO this time. You can split both shift and backspace no doubt

I'm not a sucker for screw in weights, I just think they should be optional during the GB if the kit supports them :)

A little hard to admit for a grown man but I do enjoy "underlight" support and acrylic spacers. If you consider to support RGB underlight, I highly recommend going with the B.Face PCB, my favourite RGB underlit PCB.

Not going to be a problem! Tons of interest in the Viper that didn't get satisfied. A new MX HHKB is a godsend.

I am not quite understand what the meaning of brass weight. This is already weight about 1.5 kg. If i insert a brass weight, the weight will just add 100 g or so. Not a big difference.

The contrast of material is what I prefer most about the weights, not necessarily the weight gain overall. It looks nice to me and leaves more room for customization on your end. Plus is can also leave open the possibility of someone making another weight for the board later.

I'm fine either way, but weights looks nice to me and I've always enjoyed them.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but is this the anode factory that will be working on the Dr.D tkl board as well ???

I would be more on board with a small emblem that could be changed in with different metals or something, but thats expensive and unnecessary.  I like revo's stuff cause its pretty damn minimal, and a huge different colored rectangle is offputting. also, fku

I'm fine either way, but weights looks nice to me and I've always enjoyed them.
The problem is if i put the brass weight inside,it will looks like viper. If i put them ourside it will looks like 356mini. I don't want to be like a copycat.
I will seriously discuss this matter with my partners. I want to find a way that nobody used before. haha
Thank you
