Here is a good article on crimping and soldering. It addresses crimping a little better than soldering, IMO, but it is a good introduction to both processes if you are looking a doing some wiring in the future. I am a home theater nut, and I make a lot of my own cables/wires and terminations, so I found this fairly interesting.
