Froze butt off installing alternator.
Seems to be working. I believe the last one's problem is the pully slipping.
It would initially provide current, but quickly begin to slip and the car goes to the battery.
Sigh.. either way, it were $250 remanufacturerd with a $75 refundable core .
Old Battery is 8yrs old, so + battery, $375 , $75 refundable...
Was gonna get new alternator, buh oem were $500.. heck no.
asked Autozone they charge $800 to do it including aftermarket part..
Good work :thumb:
A guy I work with changed his at work so he could do it indoors, he finished working at 2 and was still trying to put his car back together when I left at 6:30 and that was with an assitant. He said next time he'll pay :))

Alternator's not that bad, if it were timing belt, would let the shop do it.

Depends on placement. Like changing a thermostat is basic as ****, good luck changing it in my old car without essentially dropping the engine.
Good work though tp, you can save so much money doing **** to your own car. At the same time it can be soul crushing labor.
Are you saying the alternator belt is slack? There should be a way to tension it
