Introducing GMK Skyline

Where the idea came from:

Last year I was browsing reddit and stumbled on an amazing picture that inspired the colors and theme of this set. The image below has been my background since that day (July 12th, 2019).

Soon after I realized it would go great with an idea I was throwing around at the time for a colorway and asked the artist if I could use the picture, and they were glad to let me do so. Been waiting a while to release this but finally the day has come!


Theme:

Cars, More specifically Skylines, hence the name.

I plan on doing wheels, turbos, other car parts for the novelties.

I might try and get this art on a deskmat but need to ask permission to use it for actual merchandise first.

Edit: Before anyone asks, these are old kit renders and they have changed since these were made. I will be using the same kits as GMK Nightshade.

For sure want a turbo compressor housing, wheels, possibly headlights/tail lights (for bottom row to wrap around spacebar) and other ideas I am kicking around.

Renders to come trying to get updated GMK Nightshade renders done first and there is a backlog atm.

Same Alpha base color as Night Runner and mod color as Nightshade

2) Hiragana legends (mono or sub).
3) Right side legends instead of left like normal GMK.

2 would really just be saturated alter.

40s kit seems bloated having full accent keys for r3 and both escapes, plus the numpad keys.

I like cars. I like keyboards. I see no problem with this. Not a huge fan of the colors, but hey maybe I should stop thinking so monochrome.

e: need them weeb legends tho, it's sorta applicable.

Update:

Working on novelties, unfortunately some of the suggestions are for logos that would require contacting companies to use and I would rather not have to deal with that even if they would be awesome to have.

Designs are done, just working out kitting atm so will update again when that is done.

Edit: Also, maybe the blue in the kits is a tad off? In the inspiration pic it looks distinctly blue, whereas in the kits it has a more purplish hue. Of course, this may be intended, but I think it would look better with the mods more on the bluish side.

I don't think I would add a 426 C mods kit as I don't see it being successful enough at all.

As for the blue for the mods, I am changing that actually to a slightly different one but haven't exactly nailed it down yet.

Possibly, but I think you'd be surprised. Alternative color mod/alpha kits have been doing quite well lately. I don't think you have anything to lose if you add it to the IC and gauge interest at least.

As I said, the red this set uses is very nice and modern. If I were looking to get a red-on-gray/black set, I'd rather go for the colors you have here than, say, GMK Red Dragon (with alt mods) or GMK Slasher.

If you add a hiragana monolegends kit, please do it how Oni (https://i.imgur.com/3BFM0lb.jpg) and Shoko (https://raysasquach.s-ul.eu/MGAAv5cG.png) did it. Namely, these (https://i.imgur.com/xCjFrN5.jpg) keys are important.

Has the blue color been updated? I think the one in the first render is slightly different from the original one, but it also looks more purple, and I was hoping that the final color would be more bluish (like in the inspiration image). :/

The first kit image was updated but not the others. Sorry just been really busy with things and so has the guy who did the renders and haven't gotten around to updating this fully. Focusing more on nightshade first.

That's fine and totally understandable, just please choose a more bluish instead of purplish color for this set's mods once you have more time to dedicate to it.

I personally like the more purple/less blue/gray color on the accents.
I feel like there is quite a spectrum to choose from based on midnight purple

First post. Love this color way. Sorry if this is disrespectful or rude, but is there any way for this to be in a different profile (MT3 or maybe SA? I haven't tried any profiles, but those look awesome and sound awesome. I have heard somewhere that MT3 is an exclusive profile owned by Drop (formally Massdrop). I understand that GMK is very high quality, so I wouldn't be mad, I'd just be happier ;)

It will run just hasn't because I haven't been able to get nightshade off the ground due to GMK not quoting it for months on end. And that is why I haven't updated with more info cause I don't want someone taking the set and making it (night runner already has a chinese fake now...)

I promise I will run this just may be a little bit longer than initially due to 2020 delaying so much.

I prefer the R33, I know I am weird but tis my preference lol.

Personally, the r33 front looks ugly to me looks too similar to an evo or an old wrx, I love the r32 and r34 but the r35 is meh. The supra is dope too.

Not an attractive colour combination. I would prefer white legends instead of red. Change the blue colour as well; something like bayside blue of R34 would be nice, or go full black with red legends. Also having Katakana sub-legends will be better by default.

Yes, Kitting in the OP is very outdated but updated kitting isn't fully finished and ready to be posted. 40s will 100% be supported but you will have to wait to see to what level.
