Special Thanks
- LBaron, the other half of Smith + Rune!
- S+R admins and mods (except those who use full backspace), it's not possible without you guys!
- The amazing vendors we've partnered with around the world!
- Everyone who has supported us this far. We love you!
-
GL!
-
I have prepared mentally for months for this saturdays disappointment! Still crossing my fingers just in case of course.
-
shame im poor rn
-
-
Nice board!
-
Is it going to be using that same 'special' site that was used for Sat75 r2?
-
So excited for this!!!!!!
-
Is it going to be using that same 'special' site that was used for Sat75 r2?
This will be using CannonKeys queue system. However the Sat75 did help a lot with stress testing so we believe the bugs will be fixed.
-
Such a nice board, but so expensive! Wish everyone luck who's going to try and get one!
-
Nothing to see here!

:-X Extra good luck to everyone trying to get one. It will be needed!

So as soon as you click to buy, do you get into some raffle? What is the basic jist of that system?

It’s a queue system. When you click join queue you wait until the page renders a page to buy the board.

wait so what's the difference between that and fcfs?

From what I understand, after you enter the queue, you're randomly selected to proceed. So if you're the first to queue, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be the first to be allowed to select your items and check out.

Once you are chosen from the queue, you better hustle, too. Your spot isn't guaranteed even if you're checking out...Had everything picked with my Sat75, hit pay and sold out.
-
Just made a few edits to clear up some confusion.
Added that both winkey and winkeyless tops will be available, added the rune artisan to the what's in the box section, and fleshed out the plate layout options a bit more.
-
Extra PCB etc - prices?
-
is the reference page the link where the gb will be held? Never done one on cannonkeys before.
-
Eu proxy?
-
Eu proxy?
It says Mykeyboard above for EU
-
Weird question - any chance we could request a specific profile for the included artisan key?

Sorry, just R1 GMK profile.
-

Thanks, missed that
-
mykeyboard.eu listing has this mention:
The ANSI and ISO plate are not compatible with the Winkeyless top!
I suppose they have it wrong, from the first post it seems only ANSI Tsangan and ISO plate are compatible with WKL...
-
Maybe we can get something other than CannonKeys garbage checkout system next time.
-
Sucks out that I lost but it was a good experience to know that when the vendor is cannonkeys you just don't deal with that ****.
-
What a great experience, mykeyboard.eu crashed on me on the very last payment step for about 150 tries for good 8 minutes until it was sold out.
-
mykeyboard.eu was definitely the worst experience of the bunch. Website went down the whole time only to get back up when units were sold out, probably to bots.

-
Is it bad that I just wanna cry right now, it's my perfect board and I really hope bots haven't just bought it out
-
Before worrying too much about bots, there’s still the 6000+ people who are all there at the opening second with 4 vpn’d devices
-
Uh so I can't believe I managed to get one, I think my character's luck is set at 2 when I was created (charisma 90 ;D )
edit: question sorted out via CK support
-
I wanted to buy one IRON180. Today is not my lucky day.
-
Deskhero is rolling out the results slower than Nevada, but the GB experience has been really smooth for canucks, so props to Jerrold and his team for handling Canada without a ****show :)
-
I hope I managed to get in on deskhero, there was no email or GH update explaining you need an account to enter the queue. At least I wasn't too interested in this board and I know for next time but still, feels bad.
GL to the other Canadians!

me too, bro... me too.
-
I'm presuming not, as I can't see it listed in the 'What's in the box' section, but is any dampening foam included?
The sound tests on imgur seem a little hollow and pingy, so would be interested to know if there's any foam in those builds.
Also, the sound on them is pretty janky, seems to cut in and out alot.
Just to say that I am SUPER EXCITED about this board and love what you do, apologies if the above comes across as negative! I plan on spending the next six months trialling switches and keycaps for this board so am being more pernickety than usual
-
Damn this looks clean.
-
Maybe we can get something other than CannonKeys garbage checkout system next time.
It's a significantly better system than FCFS. I'm 1/3 on the CK system, so not just saying this because I got through this one time.

Rather have FCFS than f5 like crazy only to sit there for 3 minutes until it tells you to f off. If it's going to be CK might as well just run a raffle so people don't have to f5 like crazy only to be let down. 0 transparency of what is happening while you just sit there.

Pure raffle is definitely my preference but I know at least one maker that doesn't like them because it relies on people paying invoices, following up on people that haven't paid and then eventually having to move down the line. Even for highly desirable items for some reason people enter these raffles and then flake.
Unless I am misunderstanding something you never have to F5 in the CK system, I just click once when my Windows clock (synced to the web) hits the exact time. If you were hitting F5 while in the waiting system where it tells you not to refresh it might reset your order in the RNG, ie think you joined the wait at a later time?
-
hey man, if people spam f5 for CK just let them. natural selection.
-

I mean f5ing to get into the queue as soon as it pops up not f5ing while you are in the queue.
-
I think what would help is some transparency. Magfest has a similar system for hotel lotteries and they display how many people are "in line" and what number you are assigned. I know Cannonkeys is random but at least something along the lines of X amount are left and how many people are there may help everyone come to terms w where we stand.
-
On the bright side, I probably saved myself $2k USD on Saturday. I wasn't able to get a spot for Vega either. It's a want, not a need; no stress. I'm at least guaranteed a KARA ;)
-
Just catching up on how this GB turned out and it sounds like pretty much as expected. Cannoykeys queue system is pure garbage. Sure the iron180 creators dont care since they just sold out anyways.
-
I vaguely recall reading that the artisan keycaps would be offered for everyone else separately but completely forgot to check it out.
Where are/were they being sold? Are they still available?
-

They were available as "extras" which were sold separately from the kits. This included the brass smith and rune artisan, plates, and pcbs. I think it's too late to order them, now.

Quick update:
Manufacturing has resumed after CNY. Boards are currently still being machined. Next comes surface treatment and anodization. Still on target for GB fulfilment July 2021.
-
How fast this was sold out in eu? What were the numbers?
-
How fast this was sold out in eu? What were the numbers?
Website crashed in seconds, by the time many could F5 back in they were gone. Gotta remember everybody and their mother has found proxies in every market if there’s a region lock. Cannonkeys wasn’t regionlocked.
Canada and EU had 100? USA had 200?
-
Hey everyone, just a quick update!
We're getting close! The 180s are moving into anodizing now and all the other pieces are coming together, such as gaskets, screws, PCBs, etc.
Conservatively, we're expecting shipments to go out in June to us and vendors. Depending on transit time and of course rigorous QC, we're currently expecting boards to ship to customers throughout July and August.
We've definitely taken a hard look at what we could do better when it comes to fulfillment and learned a lot from our previous 165 group buy, so we're hoping for a much more efficient and streamlined QC and packaging process this time around. This likely means an easier time on the vendors (hopefully), despite how much we've scaled in quantity.
As we get closer, we'll be updating more frequently. As always, stay safe!

Awesome to hear. Very pleased to see that this is still coming on time :)

Quick update for those not part of our discord: boards should begin shipping to vendors (vendor by vendor) as they finish ano, QC and assembly in the next few days.

Woohoo!

None yet, we will release plate files when Vendors finish extras.
-
any chance we can get a group buy for new tops with properly sized winkey blockers?
-
Excellent design.
