Michael,

I am sorry but we do not offer the SPOS with an MX switch. That was an
initial launch for SPOS that was hand assembled. We only did it because
we did not have the current assembly line up and running and had a
deadline to meet for a customer.

Unfortunately making a custom order for less than 100 keyboards is not
possible. It would probably require at least 5,000 minimum order
quantity.

So that explains the mystery of the MX SPOS. They weren't in full product and had a deadline so had to make an MX version by hand. That explains it.

Too bad there won't be any more.

That also explains why it had that really goofy model number.  Oh well, that's a shame.  I guess I'll be holding on to mine.  I wonder if they know that they got dumped for $24.

I'd be willing to do a trade for an MX SPOS. A nice trade. Really. Assuming the switches aren't worn down to linearity yet.

Wow, thanks for digging up that info Phaedrus

It's a shame I had to pretend to be interested in a large (though still relatively small) lot order in order to get any information. If I said "Yeah I'd just like one or two" they'd probably give me the finger.

That's the way large companies work. It isn't a small company like Unicomp, mail is probably handed by people in service centers in India, and only forwarded to people who speak English if the potential for dollars exist.

So, if I had 1.5 million, I could get a cherry made Ricercar . . At that rate a couple grand for DIY sounds good.
