Post by: dewcorps on Mon, 30 January 2012, 18:37:53
MY KEYBOARD SEEMS TO NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF CAPS LOCK. ALSO COLEMAK DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE CAPS LOCK. WAT DO?

Cruise control for cool :panda:

What's your OS and how did you get Colemak on it?

A one-off fix might be switching to qwerty, toggling caps lock and going back. Or rebooting.

Then if you don't want it do happen again, find out how it is toggled. Maybe it's a feature, for example, I toggle caps lock by pressing both shifts at the same time. But I had to enable that myself (Linux).

1. Switched to Qwerty, turn off Capslock, then turn back to Colemak.

2. For convenience, I use this Autohotkey script to turn Ctrl-Capslock to Capslock:
^Backspace::Capslock

I'm interested in this: how? I know how to remap keys by making a custom keyboard layout (pretty easy, actually), but "harder" stuff like that needs another program, right?

In newer Ubuntus (Ubunti?), you can enable it in the keyboard settings. It's probably part of X.
