There are still several spare PCBs.
Now they can only be shipped to CONUS tho.

Do you still have some? My PCB keeps turning off. The reset button is not there.

Am I just really unlucky or what? I purchased an extra pcb from senter and it malfunctioned upon plugging in. Then he replaced it with a new one and it also malfunctioned.

Nah, my key65 GB pcb is working just fine. Same cable same laptop. These 2 extra pcbs were busted the moment I plugged them in. Even tried with different cable / port still broken.

Has anyone had any luck filling in their kanji logo with acrylic paint themselves? I purchased mine on the after market and it's blank. Would I just use a small brush to fill it in myself?

Update to my extra PCBs situation:

Apparently the extra PCB I ordered from senter recently used a USB-C connector that only works in 1 direction, i.e. if you plug in your cable in the wrong orientation the pcb won't be detected and your pc will throw a malfunction warning.

I'm wondering if any of you guys has also encountered the same issue as I do regarding leftover PCBs.

How'd you order the PCB? I sent an email to runninghack and nothing back :(

You might have to keep an eye on r/mechmarket for pcbs. Plates I cut one from ponoko with the file and it works great. It's a good option.

I got my rgb strip in. but it seems I may have gotten the wrong one. it has 4 wires instead of 3. I tried soldering just the V D and G but it didn't seem to do the trick.

Not sure where you're based but you're probably better off finding an adhesive sheet of 'gasket' off like amazon or something and making your own. I believe the common materials are rubber, silicone, poron, or foam. Its all preference.

That said, hate to say this but you installed the gaskets wrong. The 16 gaskets go on the mid and top case, which makes the plates interchangeable.

You can buy 3m silcone gasket patches off amazon and cut with a knife to size.

It is paint what did you use to wipe it? Personally tried using enamel paint kind of failed and used acetone free nail polish remover to wipe it clean. Even then I washed it with mild soap and water to be certain none of the nail polish remover got leftover.

Thought the whole point of electrophoresis was so it didnt wipe off. I used isopropyl alcohol.

Just finished building my Key65 and wanted to share my findings with using split backspace. My PCB also had the issue with the pads on the front and back sides not connecting. I was able to fix this using a mill-max socket on the pad. With the use of the dampening pad, you can't even tell that one side of switch is in a mill-max socket since the dampening pad is so thick.

Hope this helps anyone experiencing the split backspace issue. (Please ignore the poor choice of keycaps. This is temporary until Camping R2 ships...)
I know it's been a while, but I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I built my Key65 a couple weeks ago and it turns out I also got a bum PCB. I tried the factory suggested method of just jamming a buttload of solder into the socket, but that didn't feel good and in the end - didn't work. I also tried contacting Senter, but he hasn't responded yet.

I was pretty bummed out about the whole build when I found your post, but it gave me some hope of actually salvaging it. I ordered some mill max sockets and they just got here today. I had never worked with them before, so that was also a learning experience. In the end, I soldered two for the switch in question, just to be safe and diligent (and hey, now I'll have one hot-swappable switch on the board).

304686-0

All I can say is that it worked! The key was immediately picked up in the VIA keytester. I'm so happy now. Not sure if you'll read this, but thank you for sharing your method.
