Title: Vortex Core Programming
Post by: everclear on Wed, 06 December 2017, 08:40:15
Hi guys,

I bought a Vortex Core recently. I haven't really been able to use it, because I struggle to access the Fn1+Shift function layer.

I've broken the 4th finger my right hand in the past and it's not that straight, which may be hindering the situation!

Is it possible to assign another single key to act as Fn1+Shift? I haven't been able, so I'm guessing not, but thought I would seek the advice of those more knowledgeable.

I'm guessing if I really wanted to keep the keyboard, I could hack the PCB.

As far as I am aware you cannot move any mapping with Fn1 in it.  I am taking my reference from http://sevenseacat.net/posts/2017/the-noobs-guide-to-programming-a-vortex-core/ (http://sevenseacat.net/posts/2017/the-noobs-guide-to-programming-a-vortex-core/) though

I am struggling with the layout on mine and have signed up for a PCB on geekhack here https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93447.msg2545221#msg2545221 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93447.msg2545221#msg2545221)

If you're interested in full programmability beyond what the Core's stock PCB can do, try catching the second round of the Atom PCB replacement:
