After a long time of prototype-testing and modification, we finally officially launched the GB.

From the  Less, but better keycaps GB in 2021 to now in 2023, we have experienced various help from experts to finally create this small 40-key keyboard.

Design intention:

At that time, the design was intended to match the  Less, but better keycaps.

Originally, we simply referred to Rams' work for design inspiration, but as a Sony fan,

I unconsciously incorporated some elements of the Sony TPS Walkman and tried to blend them in appropriately with Rams' work.

Before using Phase one ,

I had been using a 40 - key keyboard myself.

However, because I had already used many layers,

it was difficult to add media functions.

Therefore, the TPS40 added a rotary knob and a right-side button,

which I really wanted at the time. Originally,

I wanted to make three, but due to structural reasons,

the current design has two micro switches that are used to switch Bluetooth devices.

Through discussions in the group,

we also made the soldering PCB into a Bluetooth hot-swappable design,

with straight and staggered options.

The straight version was designed with my personal preference of a double 2u spacebar.[/size]

The narrow border design also includes a Poron+spring leaf on the bottom to provide a certain

soft and bouncy feel.

Definitely grabbing this, I don’t typically go for 40% but this is just so clean and minimal I can’t pass it up!
Thanks for choosing keygem as the EU vendor.

I like the design, and I'm interested.
Are there any review videos coming out? like the ones that you guys had for the New Retro #66?

I like it a lot. Great unique design and one of the rare BT 40s.
But here I do have some questions

1. How many BT channels does the chipset offer? Don't mind if they accessible by the 2 buttons. So then by programming the keys. Usual actual chipsets are offering min 3, which is the min I need. Maybe a 3rd pairing could be done by pressing both keys?

2. Which leads to the 2nd question. Programming only by VIA GUI? Or as usual if VIA than as well QMK/TMK? 40s offen need tricky if really used daily. Further using both for Win and Mac has some special needs. So I often found VIA too limited. Especially for 40s.

Is the encoder endless or restricted range?

Are the side switches programmable or hardwired to BT?

Love this design!

Just a side topic: I love your "Less But Better" keycaps. I'd loooooove to see the dark version pictured here go into production.

Thanks for that! Waited a bit after my post but caved and bought this one off etsy. Though I liked the designer's model because it's hooded and can use low power spotlight bulb - great alternate light for those intense lubing sessions  ^-^ .
