Hey Liam, no new news from Massdrop yet.

I'll keep it updated if I get any or choose a different route :thumb:

Might want to PM the MassDrop folks if you haven't done so already as several of them are on GH.

I think it would be better if you add a grey brilliant key for the Flex Kit for someone using 60% like me don't need to buy both Flex Kit and Swoosh Kit to have Enter and diamond keys :D.

That actually is a good idea, I'll make sure I move it over from the gray kit.

Hey all, instead of Massdrop how would you feel if I did something similar to ghostjuggernaut's CMYK buy with the standalone site?

Lower scale & less kits maybe like Hack'd.

Will get some more info for any questions you might have since this was brought up only yesterday.

This is not final, just an idea I liked since it would just most likely just be the homies here that helped the set progress & give feedback.
The only things that are set atm is the ABS colors & SA R3, if the gray on blue isn't enough contrast there's plenty of great high contrast sets already/in the works.

Also, the poll I made on Md has reached 200 votes, not sure what happens next.

After dusk and fulse, id be scared of a buy like this being dead in the water. Would you be doing this on your own or partnering with a more established SP buyer/website? How would you do fulfillment?

This would be on my own, gathering payments & sending money to SP for the order.
It would be more organized than just making a google form.
I could look into getting help from other(s) that have done this before tho.

Could you tell me what exactly you mean by fulfillment?

I'd be alright with a standalone GB, but the guys at SP have pretty much said they only want to deal with companies like Massdrop. Not sure what really became of that though.

As for what next, you might want to contact the guys at Massdrop? There's a guy Alex something that has an account on here and reddit iirc. Also, just because it's at 200 votes doesn't guarantee that it will drop.

For MassDrop, it might be pertinent to contact some of them as they're online here at GH.  At least, I've seen Yanbo mention as much in another IC thread.

Did they? :( bummer, thought that was just about lower pricing or deals.

I'll contact Yanbo again soon, he was the one that told me I should start a poll in the first place :thumb:

Ohh, yes I would be doing all of it.
I've been running a lil clothing shop on the side for 4+ years with no outstanding orders so I believe I'm capable.

If what UsualSuspect said is true about SP & Massdrop/companies then the idea of the standalone buy is not likely anymore.
Or if it becomes like $200 a set, IMO less people would be in this than Flatline & those prices were looking pretty steep

If you do the standalone the prices would be even higher than what we saw for Flatline due to the custom legends (which Flatline did not have).

If I understood everything correctly, standalone GB's can still happen but they would much prefer to deal with larger entities, and thus more likely to give a larger discount to them. I believe they said that it would be good to have a single person at GH that would contact them on our behalf (which is not likely to happen) so they can track the total volume that we purchase to calculate discounts.

Since GB's like these are very small production runs compared to what we usually see at MD, the price will inherently be higher =/

Thanks for informing me on the situation.

Well I just wanted to bring this idea up.
I guess there's no getting around the price for a standalone :(
Maybe some new outlets to run buys will appear too like Zeal with Skidata.

I think that is definitely a possibililty. Same thing with Originative too. Regardless of the outlet, there will still be a pretty long wait for SA sets though =[

This is beautiful! Would it at all be possible to add 3 1U blanks (or 6 if your want both colors), one for each row 2-4 to (preferably) the oddballs/Tsangan or the Flex kit? I'm not really sure how much it would add to the cost of the set, but I could see it adding a lot more flexibility for some users, particularly those with small/unusual layouts (White Fox, Smart 68, Filco Manilla, etc).

In terms of mass orders and experience with SP, skullydazed has to be the best right now.

Hey timerwin, I missed this last time.

I'm sure adding blanks as separate standalone options would be doable like what Deep Space & Sa Retro did :thumb:

I'm interested in this TIFFANY keycap set. I hope this hasn't already been aksed. If so, my apologies, I saw what you listed about TKL & 60% board options, do you have plans for a ergo dox and planck key cap set?

Hey William, no one here's ask for it but I plan to include the kits if it goes into a buy :thumb:

Ergodox's & Plancks are on the rise especially with the recent buys on Massdrop.
Uniform keycaps look/work the best on them IMO.
DSA blanks, Granite & 1976 to name a few so it would be a great idea to include them :)

In endorse this sentiment.  You can't really get planck on keysets after the GB, I've found.  They sell out. :(

Back with an update.

The set will most likely be running through originative co. in the future :)

I'll contact Massdrop about removing the poll so there's no confusion.

The colors are set but I have been thinking about profile during this time.
I personally prefer DSA & Cherry over SA although I love the SA look.
Maybe a poll will be needed

Feel free to post thoughts on profile.

Feel free to post thoughts on profile.

I was just wondering the other day what was going on with this set. Glad to see its still in mind.
I like both DSA and Cherry, but I think my vote will have to go to Cherry on this one.
Lets get that poll. We must vote.

I've honestly yet to try DSA but will be receiving a set come August so it will be interesting to see how I like them.  DSA sets seem to have picked up some steam given the overabundance of SA sets for SP to work through.

DCS could work as well.

This is a beautiful set. I am definitely in if this is to be an SA set.

I think it'd be awesome to have this in Cherry produced by GMK or JTK. SA would also be okay, as I need to pick up something in the profile one of these days. I wouldn't much be interested in DSA, though, I don't think.
Roses are red, violets are blue. They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

JTK is out.  They're still working on the sophomore run, IIRC, and there's additional runs already planned beyond that.  For GMK, you'd need to either change the blue to more of a cyan color or bump the MoQ to 500 for a custom color.

Here's the color options from GTK.

I thought Sophomore was in its final production phase and wasn't aware JTK had anything planned after it was finished. I also know the restrictions we'd have going GMK. I was just stating what I felt would be ideal.

GMK do supposedly make exceptions to their 500 MOQ for custom colors, as GMK Carbon is supposed to have a 150 MOQ for only ~$150 a set. Carbon seems to be special though, as they're also supposed to make molds for novelties (which I don't think they've done before). (Forgot about Breaking Bad.

The weight of DSA is nice, but the quality of the actual caps compared to SA is pretty awful. The look of SA seems fairly unrivaled for a set like this, would prefer SA if voting.

I agree on this.  As much as I hate to wait, this set would look so amazing in SA

At least from what I recall in threads elsewhere, Manly Unicorn was trying to go JTK and was slated as something like JTK's 5th or  6th run so there seems to be more that's planned.  Maybe I'm not remembering that correctly, though.  It's been a while.

I too think DCS would work, it's just no one seems to like it because of the thickness :blank:

I will talk to one of the mods about adding a poll :)

This, I've seen some things about it but haven't been following GMK Carbon.
Carbon is using custom colors now?
GMK doing novelties is game changer too

I do think JTK is very busy atm tho so I would aim for GMK if Cherry, that & Sherry has experience with them.

No doubt, glossy SA fits perfectly with the Jewelry theme ^-^

I'm not picky when it comes to caps so I would like to go with the majority.
Hopefully it's DSA or R3 SA for looks tho :p

I haven't shared the set on r/mk so there might even be a big lot that want SA or even DSA.

I know you want gray on the set but I think black legends to match the modifiers would look better.
