Yeah, ok, even the gold is pretty baller.  Though, I wonder if anyone would be brave enough to through a splash of red on to make the color a tad more accurate.

Note:  I'm not saying it needs to be done, more just typing a thought out.

my model M came today!

its fairly clean for being an 86, gonna take it apart and give it a good service. still amazing to type on and just typing on it today and going back to my ducky with browns feels icky :S

also the size is bloody massive, it even dwarfs my Lexmark model M i used to own

Ordered some keycaps from qwerkeys a few weeks ago, finally arrived! Blue function keys, half-life and geekhack... though I moved the HL-key to replace the insert cap instead since it was a bit bigger. Accidentally hit it all the time.

Filco TKL (mx browns) + Ducky PBT caps
Poker II (mx blues)
Keycool 22 key numpad (blue Kailh)

Just got two IBM Model Ms in the mail today.  One is a 1391401, date 10-24-91, and the other is a 1390120, date 06 JUN 86.  I really like the 1390120 with the square metal IBM logo and no LED indicators. :D

Ha... You're right about the beer. But it's hard. I'm big on exercising and keeping fit but I love drinking beer... I've got to pick and choose my battles I guess... If I drink Guinness Stout every time I'll have to pay for it in miles running...
Guinness actually isn't that bad compared to other beers: Serving Size: 12oz Calories: 126 Total Fat: 0g Carbs: 10 Protein: 1
Shock Top: Serving Size: 12 oz Calories: 168 Total Fat: 0g Carbs: 14.8g Protein: 2.2g
Budweiser regular: Serving Size: 12 oz Calories: 145 Total Fat: 0g Carbs: 10.6g Protein: 1.3g
Bud select 55:Serving Size: 1 12oz bottle Calories: 55 Total Fat: 0g Carbs: 1.9g Protein: 0.5g
Compared to a can of Coke: Serving Size: 1 can (12 fl. oz) Calories: 140 Total Fat: 0g Carbs: 39g Protein: 0g

Beer is always less carbs than soda, so I gave up soda and occasionally drink beer on the weekends, and water all week. Then you have to take into account Budweiser beers have corn and rice in them to get more beer out of their actual beer ingredients and it becomes a quality issue. I'm just a bit of a beer enthusiast though.

got a wyse terminal board on ebay for a reasonable price. no yellowing! it's a little dirty but the keycaps still have texture (the spacebar isn't even shiny! but i have nothing to use a 9.75x space on :P). unfortunately they're the 'thin' caps but i still really like them and now i have an extra set for when my current ones start to shine.

Yeah it's like it was right out of the box, except for the cable. I hate those nasty coily things anyway. I will replace it when I get around to swapping out the browns to... probably ghetto reds.

True. No one else seems to want browns either. I think everyone else hates them too, some secretly. If I still have them in the spring I think I will become Johnny Cherryswitch and just wander the streets dropping them... LOL.
