Philly being west of those areas is a bit?

The entire east coast slopes west until you get down to VA... for those VA and south Philadelphia would be north/north-east. 

I'm going to try and get a list together of places the meet could happen in/around Philadelphia.  Personally I'd love to be just outside of philly because it's easier to get around and do things in those areas than it is in the city itself.

i meant in terms of middle, the northeast will be going more west than the coast.
if its outside philly there's the whole transportation issue for those who'll be going mass transit.

it's only 5 hours from boston. 6 with traffic (depending on the exact time of course.)

Well I have been to the coast of the USA that is on the eastern side, quite a few times.  I just haven't been to the mega-crowded* area in question here**.  I've been to ME, NH, VA, NC, and FL.    Oh, and I've been to DC.

*Nothing wrong with that though...

Well I have been to the coast of the USA that is on the eastern side, quite a few times.  I just haven't been to the mega-crowded* area in question here**.  I've been to ME, NH, VA, NC, and FL.    Oh, and I've been to DC.

If we're going KeyCon East it would be nice to keep it south enough (Philly) to attract those geographically at least to North Carolina. Still south NC you are talking about a 8-10 hour drive.

Philly is considered north east, so anything north of that would be a North East Keycon and us guys south of the Mason-Dixon line are out unless if flying. If the consensus turns out to be New York, etc. then maybe it would be wiser to do north east in spring of '15 and then go south in '16 in North or South Carolina, etc. and call it a South East Keycon?

Impossible to please everybody and cover where everybody lives on east coast.

There are a number of sketchy areas in DC, but most places are fine. Some places are so bad that they have cops constantly patrolling the streets, even in neighborhoods.

better to just go into northern virginia as it is right there and easier to get around should the consensus ever go to DC.

old town alexandria for example is right alongside DC, easy access with metro, buses, parking, hotels, plenty easy access for places to chow down.

if for example DC was ever chosen which venue would we choose..........$$$$$$$$$?

I've gotta ask what this means.  Google thinks it might be License Plate Registration, Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease, or (le) poisson rouge.  I'm leaning more towards the third option at this point, as that's a location in NY instead of a disease.  And I just now realized that I probably should have searched "LPR NYC" instead of "LPR".  But I'm not perfect, so I've gotta work with what I've got.
