Keyboards / Re: Dai ichi Yellow - Very strange indeed...
« Last post by zlobin356 on Wed, 22 May 2024, 05:44:27 »
This is probably the strangest switch I have. It's a mx clone called dai ichi yellow, it's this very strange mx clone made by this random manufacturer that there is like no info on at all or I just missed it for some reason.

The weird thing about it is that it has a click leaf, unlike other mx clones, which confuses me a lot. I don't think I've seen a switch do this apart from those zeal clickiez which apparently have a click jacket. It actually feels alright, like if you gave me this I would probably type on and be fine and like it. It's a lot more tactile when not in a keyboard though. I looked around and someone said that there was binding with the switches, I only have one cause it was sent alongside another switch that will be in a small build.

Show Image

the top is the dai ichi yellow, bottom a cherry clicky switch (sorry for poor image quality but I just got this today and I am very confused about it)

It's loud af and like rattles if you shake like there is something lose in it, but it's just the click leaf moving around hitting the switch housing making that metallic sound.

Just a very strange switch in general, but honestly more mx switches should do click leafs like this, could actually be pretty nice. (that aren't a dollar a switch please)

Really interesting switch, first time see it. I think we really need alps click leaf switches nowadays. maybe we should contact gateron and ask them if it possible to make something new with click leaf? (i know about zealpc clickiez). hope their samples dont cost too much

Check out the Gateron Melodics. They are another clicky switch from Gateron that uses a click leaf. Although this one is different from the SKCM ALPS style one Zeal's Clikiez uses, it resembles the mantis leaf used in Tai-Hao APC switches or Xiang Min KSB-C switches. I haven't tried yet myself, but have heard good things.
Thanks for advice! Defo will take a look at them!

The finish looks very nice. But for the "hello" key, I'm not sure, personally I don't really like it since the "enter" key is fairly big compared as their "hello" logo shown in the old macinstosh screen lol

Thanks for the support, GB is a wrap! All orders are now in production.
Let's GOOO! Super excited on this one!

Hey there! I'm so excited to share the design of the AM RGB 65 with you all. This is a 65% layout keyboard that was inspired by the classic Game Boy, and we first unveiled it back in 2021.

Over the past three years, I have to admit that there were times when I almost gave up on this project. But your encouragement and support kept me going. I ended up modifying the design numerous times, and there were even points where I redid the entire thing from scratch. But you know what they say - sometimes you have to keep tweaking and refining, but in the end, you just can't beat the original concept.

After all the long hours spent developing the structure, making demo boards, adjusting the colors, debugging the hardware, and working through all the other nitty-gritty details, the AM RGB 65 is finally ready! This has been a real labor of love, and I'm so proud to be able to share it with the community. I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Inspiration

308053-8

The AM RGB 80 takes its inspiration from Nintendo's Game Boy from the 1980s. We extracted its classic elements, such as its asymmetrical rounded corner design, integrated screen, and speaker grille. By using a large LED panel and applying CNC machining, we integrated these classic elements into a piece of modern technology. I'm incredibly proud of how we were able to pay homage to that beloved handheld while pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

« Last post by BerserKeys on Wed, 22 May 2024, 04:27:06 »
Hey there!

We are excited to partner with TacWorks to bring this stunning custom mechanical keyboard to life!

KEY FEATURES:
Colourful Themes
Introducing the new TAC-K1 with a splash of colour and some awesome new features. There are 8 fantastic colour schemes for you, ranging from fun and cute themes to sleek and simple solid colours. Pick the one that vibes with your style the best!

Endless Fun
The TAC-K1 is packed with loads of cool features to keep you entertained and make your life easier. Imagine fun audio speakers, handy interchangeable USB-C port, a customizable nameplate area, and a super soft and bouncy pressure bar gasket mount. We have put our hearts into this, and we hope you feel it every time you use it.

Audio Speaker
The built-in speakers come with a variety of sounds that play with your keystrokes. Choose between wired and triple mode versions for your perfect audio experience.

Decorative Nameplates
Customize your look! The small square nameplates on the rear side can be moved around, and the large backplates work across different themes. You can mix and match with a 3+1 nameplate combo or go all out with four small squares.

Adjustable Horizontal Bar
The horizontally adjustable decorative bars let you decide where to place your USB-C port and nameplates. Flexibility at its finest!

Pressure Bar Gasket
an FR4 material is opted instead of the traditional aluminum alloy for the pressure bar gasket. It is more resilient and gives you a fantastic pressure feel and sound performance.

Sound-Dampening Foams
Depending on your PCB version, the TAC-K1 offers different sound schemes. Our layered sound-dampening foam pack includes battery compartment foam, silicone base pad, IXPE bottom foam, PORON switch socket foam, PET sound pad, and more. While there are slight differences between wired-mode and triple-mode versions, the main materials remain consistent, delivering excellent sound and feel.

Plate
The plate has been upgraded to high-quality FR4 material with a sleek black core and purple edges. This offers not just durability but also a stylish look. Plus, you can choose between matte PC and aluminum alloy plates for a softer or sturdier typing experience.

PCB
The K1 comes with two PCB options: a wired-mode VIA version for key remapping and variable layouts, and a triple-mode version that supports RGB backlight and is great for office use. Whether you prefer wired or wireless setups, we have got you covered. Both versions support the fun audio features, so you do not have to compromise on the things you like.

Surface Treatment
All eight colour options of the TAC-K1 are coated with a high-performance composite ceramic finish, ensuring they look and feel amazing.

We cannot wait for you to try out the new TAC-K1 and experience all the fun and functionality we have packed into it. Enjoy!

Gateron has a click leaf switch and so does Zeal. There was also a old unbranded MX switch that used click leaf.

Thanks, I've had the Nuphy Air 96 for a couple of weeks and really love it, i put some gateron browns in it and it's perfect for my office. I'm so used to my laptop that low profile feels more natural.
