Hi, guys,
Let me present our new project - Punchy 1800. Punchy 1800 is a classical modeling keyboard designed by Punchy Lab. Punchy Lab was created by the central characters of RevoTeam. We will keep providing high-quality custom keyboards for you guys as RevoTeam did before.
Here are some renders, I will update some pics after I received the prototypes.

Very interesting. Any estimations on price?
-
Always interested in this layout.
-
If it's 1800 I'm in.
-
So we got 2018 as the year of TKL, then is 2019 going to be the year of 1800?
-
pretty kewl
-
finally a G80-1800 looking 1800 ! I sure am interested to see how's that going to turn out :)
-
Really like this. I have a Royal66 already from you guys and love it so will def be in for this
-
A black one for me please 岳父 :thumb:

Alps support is not needed, you can't get keycaps for 1800 layout.

yue fu hao

Not saying it's common or easy/cheap to find... But you CAN get them.

around 300 dollars

Interested
-
Ah is this what became of the Samoye project or its inspiration? Was very interested in that and then lost track

Here is the discord link for Punchy Labs. https://discord.gg/Nad2F2P
Feel free to leave your opinions and interest there and they will get back to you shortly.
Cheers!

I would love to see a brass weight as well as some special materials for the plate.
A half plate would be amazing!
Will the PCB support QMK and USB-C?
-
Count me in! love this layout to death. :)
-
yesssss plz :p
-
I'm super interested, I'd love an orange one to match the alps switches I'd like to put in it, and failing that, black is best, though I'm not planning to match to any black switches atm... Also, give me a month to recover from all the awesome stuff I got once I discovered mechmarket... lol. Seriously though, any idea on a GB timeline (even a vague idea) would be appreciated. So many other keeb things going on that I have to budget for stuff :)
-
is the golden scroll lock just an optional thing?
-
This looks neat.

those caps are very bad, I'd rather use a miss-rowed keycap.

Yes. That is irrelevant to the point originally raised though
-
So in for this.
-
Blaaaaaaaack! Maybe also a super brilliant neon pink? ^__^
-
any estimated time for launch?
-
Eager for any further info and updates on this one.
-
Any plans for compatibility with the TKC-1800 PCB?

Type-C will be supported, but I'm not sure if it will select QMK.
-
Will the chassis be made of metal or plastic?
-
I'm pretty sure it will be made of metal since it'll be aluminium
-
Ahem... There is no USB port in the renders. ;)
-
Even though I've already got an FC980C and can't afford another board right now, wanted to come and show my support! Love how the bezels remind me of the Fjell, which is a gorgeous 60% case.
-
I would def be interested in this project. Would also like to see a weight of some sort added. Do you have an idea of what the weight would be at this stage?

On the groupbuy page, one of the colors is "coffee", but the icon is silver. Is it actually silver?

I've been informed the one on the right is the coffee version. Assuming one on the left is silver.
EDIT: Sorry, my phone kept copying wrong link.

Is it a fixed bottom row layout?

On mm KPrepublic stated "The PCB and Case and Plate weights over 3KG" and that copper plate would add "around 3.5kg to 4KG".

Highy interested in purchasing if these statements are true

Be interesting to see if the PCB design is stolen or not.
-
Any information on programming? Didn’t see it on the page and in this thread they said may not go QMK?
-
I feel old enough to confidently say - 1800 layout is by far the best layout you can get on the PC. Period.
But my God, that thing is ugly. It would look so much better if the empty space below the F keys was smaller. I think FC980 polished this layout to perfection. Too bad it doesn't have any kind of aluminium case.

Oh dude you might like the Hineybush 1800. Seen it? Not quite the same as FC980, but pretty badass.
Wish FC980 (or any Topre) had an aluminum option. Sucks.
I like this layout, though I intend to fill F row with artsians. Maybe that's why I like it haha. Would enjoy if there were no spaces between those keys, but I'm happy with this for sure.

Yes, Hineybush is great, but it doesn't have two crucial features: ALPS support and curved side-handles (you know, like Zambumon's Verne or Tai-Chi keyboard).
However, Hiney did said he'll make ALPS PCB in the future. I hope it will have to do something with this keyboard. :/

Feel sorry, but I have to say NO.
-
Alright, I have two questions.
First, is it possible to get your case in raw aluminium (without anodization or powder coating) so I can apply cerakote myself instead of the factory finish?
Second, is your case compatibile with TKC1800 PCB? I'm asking this because as far as I can see this is the only way to get ALPS switches inside aluminium case in 1800 layout. It looks to me like it could fit inside since both are Cherry 1800 clones.

Take this with a grain of salt, but on the Discord chat it was stated the TKC1800 PCB is not compatible with this Punchy 1800 case.
Seems there's a few parties involved in this drop. Punchy Labs, KPRepublic and some dude in the Discord channel facilitating a Chinese speaker whom I don't know but apparently is involved in production. Unfortunately there is some inconsistencies in the info: for example KPRepublic provided the weight of 3KG for the board and copper plate would add 3.5KG to 4KG, yet Punchy Labs says weight can't be provided.

Hiney just confirmed he'll be making ALPS PCB's for his Hineybush 1800 so I'm all hyped up for that.

It was just reported in Discord channel that board will be using bootmapper.
Also I changed my avatar to Godzilla prepping a hot dog. Please be in awe.
