I'm desperately waiting... :-X

MX clears from a GB, springs and stickers from sherryton, caps and stabilizers from WASD, "accessories" from Techkeys, cyrillic set and couple of caps from feng. QFR top panels that a GH user did me a favor forwarding it (thanks man  ;)).

White gasmask cap, IMSTO international legends set, wkl RGB, QFR MX blue, WASD black set, DA 2013, treble case in white, Filco TKL pcb with plate and switches. Also a Schiit Magni that I'm waiting for my cousin's boyfriend's cousin (you got it?  :))) ship it from Orlando.

Waiting... :(

That's a lot to be waiting for ... hopefully soon ... :)

A lot of the stuff on your list are not even in production yet, how does it qualify as 'in the mail'? ;)

Some folks got 30 - unlikely its all for him ;)

Yep it's a business investment.  Spend big now to earn huge dividends later.  When these get made and shipped out just watch the 'classifieds', you'll see a few going in there for auctions and such.

I think you took the wrong quote :))
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Not really keyboard related but I'll be seating on this chair when the month is over. The chair is a Wilkhahn ON made in Germany.
...
I'm excited! Can't wait to seat on a proper chair. It was a long search for the perfect one and this is it.
I like the way the controls are integrated close to the chair so that it doesn't have knob and lever protrusion everywhere.
Would be real nice in a small space with that cantilever action, would like to see locking feet on it.

I've been kind of reckless on eBay lately  :D

So far, I've got the following on the way to me:
  • Dell AT101W - will be retrobriting the keys and using black VHT Vinyl Dye on the case
  • Mini SIIG w/ white alps - might be dying the case black on this one too, not quite sure yet. Maybe use RIT dye on the keys as well.
  • IBM Keyboard M2 w/rubber domes
  • (2) IBM Model M terminal keyboards w/rj45 connectors (p/n 1392595) - these will be cleaned/retrobrited
  • (2) Teensy USB Board, V 2.0, with Header Pins
  • (2) Breadboards + jumper wires

I'm pretty sure my family would stage an intervention if I ordered anything more in the near future so this will have to satisfy my keyboard-collecting urges for a while.  Only thing I might need is some sort of enclosure for the finished Soarer's Converter, so if anyone has suggestions as far as that goes I'd love to hear from you.

I'll make make a show-and-tell thread in the media subforum once I've got everything cleaned up/modified.  I will probably do a photojournal of my VHT dying and retrobrite processes too.
Using:
IBM Model M (1396790)  |  IBM XT Model F (at work)
Collection:
2 IBM Model M terminal boards (1392595)  |  Unicomp 101, Black w/Black Blanks  |  IBM XT Model F  |  SIIG Minitouch, black vinyl dye  |  7 Dell AT101Ws  |  Coolermaster QFR w/Blues - gifted
In the mail:
Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 55g (Black)  |  IBM AT Model F  |  Leopold FC660C (Whenever EK gets them in stock)

I'm more interested in the cap pullers than anything. They also seem to have black printed alts, which is odd since most seem to come with green printed ones

WOW. That's a lot of keyboard stuff. As for the enclosure, an Altoids tin and some electrical tape should work nicely.

Thanks, that sounds like a neat low-cost solution.  For some reason I was thinking I should make a big case with ports for everything (PS/2, XT, AT, RJ-45) built in, but I think it makes more sense to just splice some cables and convert everything to PS/2 and take that into a little Altoids tin.

The Teensy people make a nice little mini-USB to female USB B panel jumper, which is just about a perfect match for the stock cable opening on a Model M case.  You might want to look into one of these, it would allow you to use a standard USB A-B cable to connect the keyboard.  Assuming you're planning on an internal Teensy adapter, that is...

5.5mm socket driver so I can open my Model Ms.

sigh So near and yet so far ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
