set was for tkl... so close but small shift on hhkb.

How's the topre pom feel? Looks dope af

nice texture, crisp edges - no complaints. all sit true and level - loving the feeling compared to the sometimes chalky feel of the stock caps.

Good to know. Does it snap in the same as the stock topre caps? Their PBT ones were a bit rough sometimes for me

Thanks for the kind words DJSwayde! The alphas are stock HHKB ones. :) But the escape and function keys are the Sparkle Motion colorway from MFCAPS.

Just got my POM keycaps too! Decided to stick with my theme. Smoke resin caps, dyed red and black hhkb blanks, red abs spacebar I believe. Might have all of the topre keycap materials here!

Now if only someone could make PPS topre caps...

Traded around to get it again. Noticed that the plate had some rust so I decided to use that as an excuse to spray paint it and lube the sliders.

Whoa dude that's awesome! How did you manage to not get paint on the slider "housing"?

Oh really? I only ever take out the sliders themselves. Is it hard to snap them back in, does it mess with the stability, or are there any dangers of damaging the housing? Would love to try painting my plate too.

Thanks! You're able to remove the housing by pushing the tab in that's sitting on the plate.

Edit: Just saw your recent reply, I wouldnt put too much force. Putting it back in is a breeze also. Nothing was damaged or loose when I did it.

It's harder to get them out because when pushing them out, you partially destroy the "clips" keeping it in. It doesn't mess with the stability as the PCB holds them tight to the plate when built. You can damage them, but it's quite difficult.

Thanks guys, I'll have to give it a shot next I'm I'm going in there. I think a red plate would go well with my theme. How does it look with the caps back on? The gap is pretty small so I doubt it's terribly obvious, but would be a nice subtle touch.

I just got this guy back from a friend who's been "borrowing" it for about 2yrs.

It's an 86u ordered from korea before there was much topre in the us market. It has the variable 35,45,55g weighting that topre used to do. I can't really stand the blackout keys, so many years ago I had the red legends lasered on to the alphas. I thought they were pretty cool at the time, but now not so much. I also have the red esc key but I swapped it onto my fc660c.

I'm kind of remembering lately why I set this board aside because the spacebar rattle is driving me crazy. I'm planning to rig this guy up with SA keycaps like PerniciousPony did as my next proj.
