[SOLD] IBM 3278 Display Station beam spring

ULTRA RARE Vintage Keyboard IBM 3278 EXTRA RARE

Okay—with a BIN of $1999.95, it's not really a Great Find. It's more of a "Man, I wish I had that kind of disposable dough" find.

I thought I'd mention it anyway, though. After all, it's a beam spring.

That's crazy. I've only been in the game for a couple of years, and like, I've never spent more than 230 for single kb (including my 5251). I'm constantly blown away by the fact that these things come up semi-regularly but there is always someone willing to pay upwards of thousand just on the spot.

The price has been going insane these days. Only recently was a beamspring sold for over a thousand USD if I recall. Now I'm wondering if I should let go of my 3101 and make some good dough

A pristine 3278 sold for $800 a year ago BIN and we all thought that was crazy. These dinosaurs have been hunted to extinction by keeb poachers. They rarely come up for sale and they don't make them anymore.

One for $1K and one for $1150, actually.

This guy's obviously fishing—but all it takes are some sales at what we consider crazy prices to drive the "values" up.

Now I'm wondering if I should let go of my 3101 and make some good dough

I'd hang onto it! The way the prices are going, you'll make a lot more on it next year (and the next...).

Second only to the 3279, beautiful board.

These dinosaurs have been hunted to extinction by keeb poachers.

That's a great way of putting it. Sad they're not more accessible.

Wow—sold for $1995.00, guys.

Maybe now my wife will admit she should've let me invest in beam springs a couple of years ago.  :?D
