No lie I'm sad I sat out on this one as well, still followed the thread but I was all like ahhh well I got the evil box an the ano'd alu box... The more I see this one the more I absolutely need it .. Beautiful design Hayt. keep it up! (Make a keyset one too if you manage to source thru cn)

Thanks, man. Appreciate the kind words :)

These are awesome, are you ever making any more of them?

Yes, once this GB is finished and I can garner some feedback from the community, I will work to conduct a larger scale second run.

By way of an update, I picked up the test sample from the bead blasting shop today, and happy to say that the cloudy finish looks great. The rest of the batch will be ready for pick-up in a weeks time, so I anticipate next weekend I will be busy wrapping up and preparing for shipping. More to come.

Hi All, quick update. I have received the parts back from bead blasting and am proceeding with packing and preparing for shipment.

A few notes on the parts received:

1) Out of the 50 cases ordered, I have identified 10 that I find have unacceptable machining defects from the manufacturer. These include sizeable chips in the perimeter of the case, cracked bottom, and chipped internal partitions.  I have a note out to the machine shop and will await their direction for either replacing or refunding these defective parts.

2) Of the 40 that are in good shape, I will begin shipping these out this week. I will go by invoice order for shipping.

3) If you are in the tail end of the invoices (40-50), we will have to sit tight and wait to hear back from the manufacturer.

4) There is some slight variation in the thread tolerances on the nylon thumb screws. If you receive a case with a tight thumb screw, it will loosen over time with a bit of use. Some of the later cases may ship with an alternative steel threaded bolt (plastic head).

I appreciate everyone's continued support. If you have any questions feel free to contact me directly on Discord or Slack. More to follow

Ah bummer, it seems I will have to wait for the manufacturer update. Thanks for the GB update! It's been a smooth ride thus far nonetheless.

Hi All,

Three quick updates:

1) The first 27 cases have been dropped off for shipping today :)

2) I plan on dropping off the next 14 cases on Thursday, some of these will have steel threaded thumb screws in place of the originally specced nylon screws.

3) The remaining 9 defective cases have been shipped back to the manufacture and awaiting their inspection and feedback. More to come.

Thx,
hayt

Are our invoice numbers also our case number or did you assign slots based on something else like when the invoice was paid?

Invoice #36 aligns w case # 42, through invoice #45 aligning with # 50. This was done due to a few early supporters who bought more than one case.

I’ll post pictures shortly, but the quality of the case is excellent. It was packaged really well, and felt super secure. The quality is leagues above any other acrylic case I’ve seen so far.

For anyone taking their cases to the upcoming meetups, don't forget to use the travel foam!

Also, if you have any feedback on ways to improve the design for travel purposes, please don't hesitate to share!

Thanks,

Hayt

One more update, the machine shop is aiming to send the replacement cases out by mid-July. Add on a week for bead blasting, let's say we can get out the replacements by end of July! Thx GH

The only thing I could think for improving the design for travel purposes would be to make the bottom be able to click some switches in then the artisans would be stuck in place vs free to bounce around the case if they're smaller artisans.. but this would mean a bigger case overall...

An idea I had for V2 was to increase stackability by making a cutout on the bottom for where the screws from the top of another case would go, but enjoying the case so far!

Got mine, absolutely love it, great quality! The only thing I'm a bit worried about is somehow stripping the threads with the screw but I'm sure as long as I'm careful that wont happen.

Quick update, I have received confirmation that the replacement parts have shipped. Once they arrive next week I'll do a quick QC and turn them over to the local bead blaster. Granted everything goes well I'd love to have the remaining (7) cases shipped within 2 weeks. Thanks, GH

Hiya, quick update. I received the replacement cases, inspected, and have dropped them off today at the local bead blasting shop.

The shop is a little more backed up than they were earlier in the summer, they are quoting me ~2-weeks out before they'll be ready for pickup. If everything goes as planned I would like to have the final 7 shipped out by the end of week 7/30.

There may also be a few leftovers available (not many, like 5 or 6). After all of the GB cases have shipped I'll RNG off the remaining few in this thread.

Thanks all for your patience! GH

All remaining cases have been shipped! Thanks all for your support.

I currently have one left-over and 3 more trays without lids. In order to order 3 more lids, they will run me ~$30 each due to the high cost for ordering a small quantity. Once I can obtain those lids I will do a left-over raffle for the remaining (4) cases. TY <3
