[IC] - silver keycaps - need your opinion

Morning/Afternoon GeekHackers,

i know that group buys and keycaps itself got separate forum but at least the one with gb are ones already ongoing. And I just wanna get your opinion before i create one if there's even a point to do that.....

Pure silver
Hallmark : 925
Weight : 9~10
Minimum order for each R1-R2-R3-R4 : 100.
Cost : Each keycap 20$.

Taking orders ~ 1 month
Production ~ 2 weeks
Delivery ~ within europe few days - rest world 1~2 weeks


Mine the one on pictures below is clear but it can be mat (additionally engraved signs on top/side).

I like it, but I wouldn't order it. Too expensive, not much point IMHO. Zinc ones are good enough for me if I want metal keycaps.

Not expensive at all!  I couldn't outsource good quality vacuum casting for less than £45-ish per cap (though I think my prototypes were heavier) and don't have space in my workshop for even more equipment so $20 is very reasonable.

my one query is:

You can't have it both ways, so which is it, pure silver, or sterling silver?  Not that it makes a massive difference on something like this - I'm just a bit fastidious about such things.

Zinc already costs a ton of money.
Pure silver? Many tons of money.

Not to mention they WILL tarnish and you will be forced to pull them out and clean them regularly.
