[IC] The After Klaxon group buy discussion
« on: Mon, 14 January 2013, 21:03:37 »
So I've enjoyed the group buy organization process so far and I think I'll be doing another after I have Klaxon ordered.  But I'm not entirely certain on the color combinations, I've thought of:

Black/purple/white (similar to this(image thanks to hashbaz, feel free to tell me to take it down if you'd prefer):
Charcoal/orange (essentially get OCKC back going)
Red/Blue(think emergency vehicle lights)

Right now, I'm taking suggestions or seconds for one of the three colors I've already thought of here and we'll go from there.

My personal choice is black/purple/white.

Isn't that image based on what we expect to be getting from GMK? I know personally I'm done with full sets from SP and others may be too depending on what happens with GMK.

I think the GMK buy will have that purple mod set, maybe something different like CCnB?

I know that the purple set was meant to show how purple mods would look, but I don't know if any GMK stuff is ever going to include a full set.  From the attitudes of the two people that have been doing things with GMK so far, they only seem interested in novelty and mod sets because of the queue.

And as much as I'd like doing a GB through GMK myself, I'm not certain that it would be one of the more popular of my decisions.  I may though, but we'll see.  If everyone wants to treat SP as the stepchild from now on, obviously I'll do what I can to get things through GMK instead.

I think the GMK buy will have that purple mod set, maybe something different like CCnB?

I wanted to add CCnB to the list, but I have this odd feeling that sherry has a bunch sitting in a box that he's just holding on to until he dumps whatever "is more interesting" on the market.

how about this set?

I wouldn't be opposed to doing a beige/brown/black either.

CCnB?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. This probably isnt most applicable to this IC/GB but would a full set in Maziora Andromeda be possible? (google Maziora for color)

I guess this would be most appropriate for Metal Cases and what not

Charcoal/orange (essentially get OCKC back going)

Yes, I was looking through that thread last week and liked OCKC quite a bit. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I saw some people wanting a second set of inverted mods (orange on darker  charcoal??) and I thought it looked wonderful.

Why don't you try something like the orange and charcoal BUT a plain set, with only orange on grey.

Only do 1 option, that is ANSI set with tsangan kit together, no fuzz.

You guys with me?

Topre already has a nice lime set - all you'd need is darker green modifiers.

Orange and grey is always a favourite :D

But would love to see something like a Coffee and cream set. Beige with darker brownish beige mods with black legends.

Also, CCnP would be sweet...well...only if SP gets a nice dark purple.

This orange and charcoal is Num 1 on my most desired list.

Second is coffee and cream.

I would order one of each if both were available.

If I do charcoal/orange, options for all kits will include(I'll order all that meet MoQ):

Charcoal on orange (CoO)
Orange on Charcoal (OoC)
Dark Gray on Orange (DGoO)
Orange on Dark Gray (OoDG)

This will ensure the ability to mix and match at will.

Might possibly be a bit too similar to the RA2.0, but how about BLUEonWHITE and vice versa? (the blue being either BO, or BFP) with the possible option of grey kits being available again for those who missed them in the original group buy?
You just know there's going to be some people who clicked originally and didn't like the red, or the prices were perhaps still too high and didn't/forgot to check back(even though they're cheap as chips now).

First GMK buy is small only because they insisted on it. I defineatly have plans to organize buy for full set following. Considering MOQ will probably be at least 300, need to keep colorways as something that will appeal enough to get there. Have idea to do a buy quarterly for full set with one classic repro and one fresh colorway decided by community voting. I have no probelm working with others and sharing the efforts.

Brilliant idea.  Lemon on charcoal.

There are already orange on charcoal sets out there. Though would be nice to have constant colour on the mods too.  Like the original skidata set

Or coffee on creme, but maybe with a rich chocolate brown for the mods with creme legends?

Don't worry, white and blue is in the works. Look for it soon.

So, I really want that orange on charcoal. OAS on GX. I also really like the look of that OAS on GE base with OAS on GX mods.

I think the lemon on charcoal will look too similar to the "Toxic Set" currently in GB.

Orange/Grey/Charcoal please!
