here is my new IBM Model M 69

Show Image

Im about half way through the case mod.

Holy ****. How'd you get the membrane to work? Just fold it? Build log coming soon? I have so many questions!

Folding and lotsa tape.
I taped off all the unused capacitive connections, and actually taped the sheets together on the unused sections at the seams.
My thinking was that the pressure from folding over would force the sheets to separate too much making those outer edge keys not work so well.
Even so I got issues where the 1qaz column was multi firing, so I had to tweak the bolts here and there to get it to work.

I got sort of mad-scientisty on this mod and just busted the whole thing out in a quick time without taking pics.

I can probably reverse mod and take some pics this week.

This is in no way shape or form a clean mod.#theressomeducttape
It is down and dirty for the most part, and the case mod was a bit of a failure.

But hey, the board works, and is fully programmable.
I wont be transporting the board around, so im content with its durability/stability.

Not every mod needs to be super photogenic and sexy. It's nice to see a real DIY mod with duct tape. Duct tape is the key to any good mod.

True, but I at least want to clean it up.  Im going to epoxy and fill in the gaps and repaint it soon.
I might be getting 3 regular model m's today so I should end up making an SSK very soon. in which I will make a log for sure.

I can PM you the thread when i'm done.

So you know how I mentioned I was going to get 3 free model m's today?

Well it was supposed to be the M's and a pcjr, I just didn't think the membrane was worth mentioning.

Well I didn't exactly get three model m's and a pcjr, I got three model ms and an ssk.....

Will post photos of my keyboards when I make it home.

Well that's really lit. Congrats on the pickup!

I picked up an adapter so that I can use my Nikon SLR lens on my Olympus EPL3 (a micro four thirds camera). I wanted to do a comparison to see how the two lenses differ. Seems like the Nikkor lens is a bit softer....or at least I can manipulate the focus more. I need to figure out how to white balance better as well. The Good Times Green Clack isn't as dark as the pictures show.

For example, a June 1918 article from the trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department wrote, "The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl."

Oh ****. I never knew Hammer made such a thing! How did you get them?

You need to join the official hammer QQ group firstly. They usually announces sale event for new product every now and then. But you need to be quick cuz it's usual limit amount and panic buy. :p

Do you want me to pm you my address?

Actually I do want to trade them for some OG cherry stuff. But I am also open to any other interesting stuff. Maybe you can kindly send me a pm to see what we can do about it.

Dude, those are great!

Yeah Martin is pretty good too. No offense to Martin but the truth is in Chinese local market the creations of Martin are hardly sold alone, they need to be sold with the Hammer products. :'(

Oh ****. These are dope as ****. I want them. Someone figure out how to get this ****
I have replied how to obtain them at the original price. But just FYI they are pretty hot in Chinese local market. they could easily go up to about 85$ for both excluding shipping between the enthusiast.

Maybe you already knew the QQ is a most popular IM software in China from tencent company , which you can easily grab from their official website also from the Apple App Store and Google.

You have it installed then registered a new account.  Then add new relationship and search for group number 376897. Try to join. But maybe they are reluctant to recruit new member recently. Good luck.

FYI the hammer group logo look like this then you will know the right place is found.

I got put into that group when I posted my keyboards on enjoyclick and was a "foreign superstar" (actual quote from an EC member) for a brief period of time.

Then I got kicked like a week or two later because I didn't say anything. I don't speak Chinese :))

Even a chinese guy can't get hammer's artisan easily cause they have their own rules to decide whether you have the chance to buy. It may be at least half year after you join the QQ group or you have bought hammer's product before.
