mass of keyboard? mass of weight?
can we see the leaf-spring plate?
is this a 5 piece construction? top case + bottom case + bottom accent + weight + plate&PCB
looks externally screwless to me unless the bump-ons are hiding them.
I like that you are designing this for your wife :thumb:
gok, everything you put out is amazing.Things are pretty fluid at the moment. Type K is the priority and will be in-stock so it will take a while to have the units on hand but at the same time, it is further ahead in terms of development than the Venn.
Which one do you think will be out first? Type-K or this? This will be GB and Type-K will be in-stock sale?

0.75u is cool.please consider WKL blockerI second this
That green is to die for :eek:Still fleshing out what options I want to offer but yes, PVD would be treated separately.
I'm guessing the rainbow weight would be sold in a similar way to how the black pvd weight was sold for 7v? Or is it just something you were experimenting with that might not make it in?
Regardless I am so down with this, everything you make is just jaw-dropping, I can't wait for my 7v to deliver and I would be waiting for the Venn and Type K GB with the same amount of interest
Wow. Looks good.I'll add a dimensioned drawing once things are finalised. I've already tweaked the bezel thickness for the next proto. It's not that tall though as you can see from the side profile.
Can I ask, what is the front height? I hope it’s not exceptionally tall :)
Does the PCB support ISO like you've previously said it might? The graphite pcbs by wilba.tech are available from Salvun.com now and support ISO.
please consider WKL blockerI'm personally not a fan of wkl blocker on a 65% and it doubles the SKUs for the group buy. The only layouts which I'd consider providing wkl blockers for are 60% and tkl.
so this is leaf spring gasket like 7v, or traditional topmount with leaf spring? It's sandwich leafspring. With how much contact there is, I don't think I needed the shims that the 7V had.
This will probably come before my chiwi R2 does hahaFShow Image(https://cdn.frankerfacez.com/emoticon/484988/4)
Venn as in a venn diagram, friend in Norwegian, or a name? The diagram. It's the intersection between chiwi60 and 7V.

so if i understand it right, your sandwich leaf spring plate means there are gasket strips sandwich the leaf springNo gaskets. The plate is sandwiched between the top and bottom.
or the leaf spring is sandwiched between top and bottom case, like sandwich mount?
sorry i'm kinda dumb to this

I've added a photo of a disassembled parts at the end of the photos section.
I'm new to the whole interest check, group buy keyboard scene. How do I follow the whole process to make sure to can get on reserved?Check this post for updates and join discord that's linked in OP.
would you consider making CF leaf spring plate gok? that would be so awesome !!I won't be doing carbon fibre as a plate option.
Please do a red colorway!I'm considering burgundy.

I would love an anodized bottom weight. Hoping for an unlimited GB cause I absolutely love this!I don't think I will provide this. I have a clear idea of what I want to do with the weight and I don't want to assign any SKUs to an aluminium option.
Venn will provide half plate ?Possibly. The reason why I'd consider this over more plate material options is that I'd want to get leaf-spring mounting design to a point that I'm happy with but also allow the option for more flex in the alphas.
This would look so good in navy with that multi color weightThe same navy blue that I picked for the 7V is likely to be an option for the Venn.

Looks promising. Any possibility of a top right badge? Loved the one on the 7V.
Really enjoying the large chamfered edges, along with weight design seen from the back it looks gorgeous. I second those saying a burgundy color way
Ooo burgundy and green both insta copV2 prototype has been ordered in burgundy. I will see how I feel about it after seeing it in person.

Will the pcb come with rgb backlighting if not, can it? Also suggesting a dark blue case would be sweet for thisIt doesn't come with back lighting. It will come in the same blue that was used for the 7V.
Hotswap PCB? :)I believe that there will be hotswap versions of the graphite PCBs.
Do we know which will come first between this or Type K?They are basically running in parallel and I don't know which one will finish first.
Looks exceptionally good. Would be in if I didn't already have a 65% on order. Really wanted to get in on 7V too, but I will try to get in on Type K ;D
What plate materials have you been experimenting with? Which one do you think provides the best typing experience with the leaf spring mounting? I personally never own a leaf spring mounted board, so I am a bit curious.Alu, POM and polycarbonate. I will likely go with POM. The idea is to have a really flexible material so that the alphas can be bouncier without going half-plate. The plate has a lot of mounting points which would usually over-stiffen the plate but the leaf-springs offset this. For the revised plate, I went with more but longer leaf-springs to make the typing feel more consistent.

Also, a reminder that the proto build stream is happening tomorrow on Epsilon keyboard's stream. (https://www.twitch.tv/epsilonkeyboards)
The rainbow PVD looks amazing, I hope this makes it into GBThis is an option that I really want to offer but I will need to treat it similarly to the 7V PVD weight and only offer it as an extra as opposed to an optional upgrade. It will probably also be really expensive.
Looking forward to the proto stream
When I look into this board, I fall in love instantly. It should either be a high cap or unlimited.
I hope venn65 will do unlimited group buy.
Will there be an ISO plate available too?I need to think about this. With the plate being so flexible, I don't want to have a universal cutout that supports both ansi and ISO on the same plate and I'm not sure if I want to double the number of sku's. At the very least, I would post the plate file so you could get your own made.
Great Proto stream, so excited for this board! Hope burgundy turns out great! There isn't an official discord because I don't want to manage a server but Epsilon keyboards has a channel dedicated to it here. (https://discord.gg/cvNtwXMTW2)
Is there a discord to follow more along?
Very interested if there will be an ISO PCB and plate. Clean lines and good colours. The PCB supports ISO but not sure if I will offer am ISO plate. I elaborate on it in the reply above.
I'll need to test this with my mobile phone when I get the proto back from Epsilon. What plate materials have you been experimenting with? Awesome, that's interesting. I will try POM plate, which would be new to me.
BTW, this is a question regarding the pcb: does it support usb-c to usb-c connection? It's a minor feature, but I want to ask for good measure.
I hope the rose gold PVD back weight is still an option. The update says polished SS but doesn’t say if it’s coated :)

I hope venn65 will do unlimited group buy.
This looks great. I really dig the design, looks super clean. I know you said you didn't want to do an E-white but an e-white with that rainbow weight would look heavenly. As a newcomer i would appreciate a hotswap version so i will be crossing my fingers and wait.
Hotswap is not offered usually on Gok boards. Learn to sold millmax its very easy.
Is there a discord server or something similar to follow the updates?
Is there a possibility of a black color? Silver doesn't fit with some keysets sometimes, and it would be nice to have a color neutral option. The green on Epsilon's VOD looked very nice though!I don't want to offer too many colours because with there being 3 parts that can be interchanged, SKUs get a bit crazy.
Nice to see the rainbow PVD weight added as an extra! Also hoping the burgundy turns out well, +1 interest for the burgundy color.I'll probably just be testing it myself so no streamed builds of this.
Will there be any builds/test with a polycarbonate plate? Curious to see hear how the flex consistency is on a sandwich poly plate is.
I hope the rose gold PVD back weight is still an option. The update says polished SS but doesn’t say if it’s coated :)I will probably only offer 1 PVD option and I'm leaning towards rainbow at the moment because it is more unique. Plain polished stainless steel has yielded nicer surface finishes in my experience.
how much do the brass and ss accent cost compared with aluminum accent? brass accent with brass weight would be dopePricing TBD but it's usually quite a bit more expensive for non-plate parts.

I dunno, Jane V2 CE pretty classy. Bring on the rainbow! There's enough rose gold elsewhere.I hope the rose gold PVD back weight is still an option. Thanks for answering. Not sure how others feel, but I think rose gold PVD is a more classic and timeless option than rainbow PVD, notwithstanding that the latter is more “bling”. Exudes more class IMO. hope u reconsider. Thanks.

Seems to be pretty polarized.
Personally not a big fan of rainbow, looks a bit out of place on a classy board to me.
Sure we see rose gold on cases, but it's generally more pink color and on aluminum. Rose Gold PVD is totally on another level and looks so classy.
And it matched (surprisingly to me) super well with the olive green color.
Is there another link where we can view the prototype build stream? The link has been updated. I forgot that Twitch VODs get deleted after a while.

I'm 110% interested in this Mr.Gok and also i really really want a 7v, i just got into this hobby 6 months ago and sadly i didnt know about group buys when you were offering the 7v for the group buy and thats my dream keyboard, do you know if there will be anymore group buys for the 7v or anyway i can get one at the msrp you offered them? I'm very picky when it comes to used things and i keep extremely good care of all tech i own and have trouble getting ride of my stuff so i rarely sell anything and if i do need to get rid of something weather its an old computer phone or clothes i donate never sell. But it makes me sad that my dream keyboard the 7v there are people that entered that group buy just to flip it for profit when they recieve it and i would keep that one forever and same with this Venn if it goes into gb which i hope it does. I really hope u dont think im ass kissing but i honestly dont really like any other highend/exclusive keyboards besides yours. This Venn and the 7v i hope to be able to own both and keep them in my collection forever just like my 2 others that i built already (the tofu 60% and kbdfans 5 degree 60%) Just to make sure this venn isnt up for group buy yet right? i checked the links and it isnt up for purchase just yet. Anyway hopr i get a reply and if you could pm me and anwser a question for me that would mean alot to me. Thanks!
any chance of split spacebars? This will use Wilba's standard graphite PCBs so I'm sticking with the layout options that PCB offers.
Is this keyboard still going to happen? Haven't heard anything from it in a while.Chinese New Year happened so the factories were shut down for most of February.
Is this keyboard still going to happen? Haven't heard anything from it in a while.
I'm actually really very interested in this keyboard simply because of the layout and the PCB, cause I've been looking for one like this for at least 2 years AHAHA. That aside the aesthetics is really beautiful. But just wondering if it is okay to basically take them apart to mod creating a custom. I intend to buy one for my brother but his love for RGB is just out of this world. So is it possible to add LEDs per key and/or underglow(Soldering it myself is fine), and adding the hot-swap sockets for him as well. That's just my questions for customizing the board. That aside, I'm superr hyped for this Board to be out, as this has literally been what I've kind of been looking for. Lastly, is it possible to use the HHKB layout for the majority of the board but I want the extra buttons at the bottom(i.e. the additional Windows/Fn. Unified size of all 3 buttons instead of a 1.5U Ctrl 1.75U/2U Alt)?No changes will be made to the PCB design and layout because I want to run with Wilba's graphite series of PCBs.
Op if you have read this, I'm really thankful for you taking the time for reading the questions. Again I'm really very hyped for this board. Will be awaiting for updates! You are awesome HAHAHA
Cheers and have a good day~
Can there be another color option? I would love there to be a white one with a brass weight on the bottom. If my dreams come true then i'll be having this Venn white with a brass weight and a very specific color scheme keycap set. Gok PLEASE answer my prayers with your amazing talent and release a white one as well. But if not thats ok I can deal with that ill just go with silver and a brass weight. By the way can anyone tell me if the pcb will be included with this? I think i saw that it was available on another website but when i checked it was sold out or was that just a pcb that could work with the Venn???I want to stick with 4 colours since there are already a lot of different configurations you can have which increases the number of SKU's by a lot. The kit will come with a PCB but the idea of using the Graphite PCBs is that you will have continued support for it beyond the GB window.

What are the other 2 color options? I don't know if I've missed it, but the case colors I've seen so far are olive and silver
I've decided to remove brass altogether as an option due to issues regarding the longevity of the clearcoat.

Rainbow PVD has been chosen over rose gold because it is more different to polished stainless steel and provides something fun and unique that isn't usually offered.
Hoping you reconsider brass or rose gold weight. It's the combo of those two with the green that really got me excited about this keyboard.
Btw that red is beautiful as well. Really love the tones for both the red and green.
Agreed, I already built (in my head) a green one with a brass weight on it. Hopefully something works out there!

Maaaaaaaaan that burgundy is beautiful. I love itI agree it's a great red. Other than a WoB set, what color keycaps would really work on that though?

Will there be a hot-swap option?
Looks like EPBT 3000SAT with GMK Matrix-01 novelties.Damn. I'm always impressed with the encyclopedic knowledge GH'ers have regarding regarding this hobby.
- What colour options will there be?
I'm still exploring the colour and material options but silver and olive green are confirmed. I like silver and olive is my fiancé's favourite colour.
:D :D :D :DWill there be a hot-swap option?
this is geekhack.
we solder here.

Ah, the Silver/Grey mid/Rose gold PVD weight was dropped as a color option? That's a bummer. As soon as I saw that render, I was sold, but now I'll keep searching for my dream color way :/
No silver ? Really ?
Then why show us so many stunning photo in silver

No anodized purple case option?

If this came in a Plum color, like the Iron165, with the rose gold weight - I'd eat my own shoe to get one.
Needless to say I'm extremely excited for this board. I tried to scavenging the world wide web and couldn't find any images of the blue color. Is there any images of the Venn in blue? The blue will be the same as 7V.
Venn comes after type K right? I hope I didnt miss the gb. Any confirmation on hotswap pcb?
damn no more e-white rose gold combo?? biggest sadge moment ever.

Do you plan by any chance another in stock run? Missed this one sadly..
There will be another drop but no confirmed date yet. Probably sometime early in the new year.

It would be nice if the new drop also offered ISO plates in the base kit.
There won't be any ISO plates made. As an instock item, it is hard to justify splitting quantities to address a small target audience so we've opted to just release the plate files instead. It is similar to the situation of when I had worked on epbt keysets and we would be left with 0 base sets remaining but a bunch of ISO extension kit still in stock. There will be another drop but no confirmed date yet. It really would. The lack of ISO plate was the reason I didn't buy one last month.

ISO enter stabiliser cutouts are in the file. Maybe they are on a different layer. I've already thought it through and I'm not going to change my decision regarding ISO support. There won't be any ISO plates made. I understand the reasoning but I think a compromise can be found: it would be enough to offer even a low number of units with ISO plates in order not to run too many risks.
In addition to this, trying to open the files released for the ISO plates, it seems to me that the cutouts for the stabilizers of the ENTER key are missing. I don't know if it's just my problem or if others can confirm it too.
In any case, I hope the decision not to offer an ISO-supported base kit can be reviewed.

nice board. i prefer Hotswap tho
I love it. I regret every time I see the silver sold out. Will there be more silver coming in plsWe won't be making more until they are all sold out.
Will a wilba 65-g h1 (hotswap) fit (they are in stock on Salvun)I haven't tested it myself but a lot of people have used the H1 without any issues.
