There is a new Interest Check form to fill out, for a vote on color options, please fill that out here: https://forms.gle/ErFxyj4R1AHUDVLfA (https://forms.gle/ErFxyj4R1AHUDVLfA) so that I can get a better reference of colors to offer for the GB.

Estimated Cost of $350-$400 (Final Quotes are not in yet) with a target GB of October.
This could not be reached due to material prices skyrocketing.
Planned Colors:
- E White
- Black Ano
- Blue Pastel Ano (Pantone 0821 C)
- Violet Pastel Ano (Pantone 0631 C)
- Green Pastel Ano (Pantone 0921 C)
- Space Gray? (Debating this color still)
The first round of prototyping is underway, with hopes that they will arrive before the end of July. I plan on reaching out to streamers next week for potential build videos/content.
For the quickest updates, join my discord: https://discord.gg/BNnEGFr or follow me on instagram @kikos.lab
EDIT 10/11/2021
Prototypes have arrived!
Here is an imgur album of protos for you to enjoy: https://imgur.com/a/cUU6y4j (https://imgur.com/a/cUU6y4j)
There will be a build stream done by Alexotos on Tuesday, Oct 19th at 4 PM PST! You can find that on https://twitch.tv/Alexotos
ManoliVisuals will also be getting a prototype unit with a video review TBD, and AndyVNguyen will also be receiving a proto unit for a stream.
There is still a debate on the Pastel Colors, as the process to do that would mean having to go to a different finisher, raising costs all around. Currently I’m landing on doing just a limited run of Pastels at a higher cost.
Now, GB details! There is no set date yet, but the target is currently either November/December.
GB will have a high cap of units, to allow as many people as possible a chance to purchase. Price breakdown will be as follows:
Ellora65 Standard Kit: $425 Solder, (+$25 Hotswap)
Kit Includes:
Anodized Alu Top Case (Or E-White)
Anodized Alu Bottom Case
Internal Brass Weight
PCB
Gaskets
Rubber Feet
Alu Plate (Anodized Black)
Encoder Knob (Sandblasted Brass or Anodized Alu)
Carrying Case
Plate and Case Foam (Provided by Stupidfish Designs)
All Screws
Polycarbonate is still up for debate. The quotes given to me by the manufacturer are $50 more expensive for PC, I assume due to failure rates of CNC PC. Let me know in the interest check if PC is something you’d like to see.
ALL BRASS ELLORA65 - 25 Units $750 Solder PCB (+$25 Hotswap)
Replace every “Alu” in Standard Kit with Brass
Sandblasted rather than polished, chosen for longevity and cost factors.
Limited Edition Pastel Cerakote?
Let me know if this is something you’re interested in. Estimation is +$75 to Standard price.
Vendor List is as follows:
US: Kiko’s Lab
UK: Prototypist
EU: Mykeyboard.eu
CA: Ashkeebs
AU: Daily Clack
SEA: iLumKB
ASIA: Zfrontier
GB Dates: Nov 19th-Dec10th
Pricing unfortunately went higher than I wanted it to. This is due to the fact that material and electronics pricing are currently skyrocketing at an unbelievable rate.
There will be an auction held for the “Baby Girl Pink” Prototype Ellora65. That will ship out immediately after a winner is decided, and all proceeds for that auction will go to a Breast Cancer Charity. For any questions, please join my discord and ask freely.
Enjoy these renders!

LOL. I didn't want to put something on that for all those love the clean keeb booties.
-
Another great looking board. Would like to see the bottom tho

The bottom has no design on it, just the rubber feet
-
Kiko is GOAT. The grey render looks dope, definitely in once the Gb starts.
-
this is way too early of an IC. No bottom design ready? No renders of the internals, mounting system? No actual IC, just this is my unfinished board where I crammed everything into one box with 0 creativity.

No Bottom Design is intentional, there's also an MP4 that's downloadable showing an exploded view with internals/how it'll mount.
Prototype PCBs are already here to me, and the cases will be manufactured soon enough. The board is essentially 90% finished, missing a design on the internal/non visible weight only. Barring any issues with the protos, it's all good to go. This isn't my first keyboard made. It may not be what you like, and thats fine. You glossed over some details in the IC though it seems.

Did you actually read the entire post?..

Is this an attempt at leaf spring? I don't think it will be leaf-springing at all
-

It is not, its a gasket mount. Not going for leaf spring, as I feel calling keebs that is misleading.

Thank you for including a split spacebar support !
I hope more vendor will include this at least with the solder PCB.
That is a extremely under utilized productivity feature (and making the typing experience very comfortable too by reducing pinky modifier access)
-
I need it.
-
Definitely interested, love the layout.
-
I like how the bottom has no design, much cleaner imo.
Any idea of the front height?
-
Oh man, I know its way too early but will this follow the KL-90 route and have a polycarbonate option eventually? This board in that tiffany blue polycarbonate... instant buy.
Also: hotswap pleaseeeeeeeee.
Looks amazing, man.
-
This look interesting!! Little brother of KL-90 =)

Currently 19mm, with some room to drop it. But I want to receive the protos back before making any decisions
-
Super neat layout!
-
How should I expect to program the OLED? Never actually worked with one on a custom before, so just wondering if there's an API for it, if it's through QMK/VIA, or if I just need to write instructions myself? Thanks :)

OLED Can be programmed using QMK! r/OLKB has plenty of awesome resources
-
Curious to know how big text/other stuff will look on the OLED!

Curious to know how big text/other stuff will look on the OLED!
It's honestly not super big, but readable! The Lily58, Satisfaction75, KL-90 all use the same OLED on them
-
The layout options picked my interest.... and on such a neat design (please don't add any logo/branding)
Can't wait to see the prototype !
-
ne price estimate?

$350-$400 USD according to the mm post.

damn you named your kid after a keyboard?

I don't want to add any branding to it! I may put a design on the internal weight, but I'm still undecided.
-
Dropping by to say Hi. GLWIC brother! :thumb:
-
Hope I can get my hands on one dude, looks great fantastic work!
-
Since you did not check all of my boxes I feel obligated to tell you that I am not interested.
-
i like... please make
-
Looks amazing! Any chance of navy colour and hotswap? :D

will be waiting for this!

1000% interested. I'm more than interested, I'm excited!
-
oops..

Beautiful! Love everything about; please tell me the case is aluminum? Can you make windows on the bottom to allow LED light to bleed through?
-
Make sure you get the finish right this time please. The "purple" on my Whale is a sad joke compared to the renders/prototypes. If i wasn't planning to paint/cerakote it anyway, i would of thrown a fit.
Oh man! I wasn’t in charge of the Whale, but I’m getting prototypes made and additional color samples as well to verify what I want in the board. I wouldn’t start a GB without having it in hand!

It will be Aluminum case, LEDs are still being considered
-

Thank you. Would you consider making a TKL version?

The closest to a TKL i’d make is the KL-90 I’ve already put through a GB phase. Look up that, its essentially a TKL
-
But that's sold out! :(

Oh, okay, never-mind. :thumb:
It's looks like to me, what happened was, the protos/renders used cerokoting or powdercoating or something, while the actual product was anodized. Given how saturated the purple was on the renders/prototypes, compared to the silver, with the slightest touch of purple in.... certain light... kind of.., that i actually received, that's what makes sense to me.
-
Knob on the left side with macro keys  Please, please tell me there will be EU vendor.
-
Knob on the left and left hand macro cluster are actually better than right hand side imo, since I didn't need move my hand over when I'm still using mouse.
OLED screen is kind...tricky, but if the PCB didn't have any LED as indicators OLED screen is a better choice compared to trying to figure out which layer I'm on...
-
I am going to hold off in hopes of a future polycarbonate version like the kl-90
-
I am going to hold off in hopes of a future polycarbonate version like the kl-90
I don't want to do a second run of this case design, and so Polycarbonate is still being toyed around with. The layout will return though, same as the KL-90
-
Left side macro and knob with the clean look is very attractive. I think the clean bottom is perfectly fine. Just out of curiosity, is there any possibility of entertaining the idea for some shade of red (pastel/whatever)? Love how this keyboard looks though - best of luck!

There is indeed! There's been some updates since posting this IC, and colors are the main thing. I'm torn between Red and Purple as a final offering. I have prototypes coming in of both colors, so we'll be able to see then!
-
Hi,
Does the hotswap PCB support the split spacebar option?
-
Def interested
-
would love a light blue board like mizu but not mizu i just want a board that color anyways interested for sure gl!
-
I like this design! Thank you for bringing it up.
Please consider the space gray version if you can. GLWIC!
-
will the screen function be like the one in vita?

Split Space and a nice design, take my money
-
This keyboard does check a lot of tick boxes for me but I can't tell why but the photos/renders just don't do it for me. As in, they don't excite me and make me think I want it!
Do you have any renders or anything with some other keycaps choice? I think it might just be down to poor choice of keycaps to show off what is technically a great keyboard
-
Updated the main IC post 10/11/21. Added in pictures of prototypes, vendor list, price, and new IC form for the color and material options!

Split space is a necessity to support! It'll be supported on both Solder and Hotswap PCBs
-
Two hotswap layouts is a welcome surprise. :D
I’ll take one of the pastel coloured ones, please and thank you.
-
Really excited by this! Hope I have the chance to pick one up. I love the split spacebar hotswap support too.
Also, it's a lovely idea to hold a charity auction, I hope you consider the Breast Cancer Research Foundation as they are one of the better charities who support breast cancer research directly in many countries (not just the US) and last I checked nearly 90% of their funding goes directly to research. Or The National Breast Cancer Foundation who are dedicated to providing low cost screening and diagnostic services and direct nearly 80% of their funds towards those programs.
I don't know if they've cleaned up their act since, but probably one of the best known charities (Susan G. Komen) engaged in some very unsavory practices for a charity and only dedicates a very tiny portion of their funds to actual research.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I've been doing research in, and I was starting to settle down on to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Low cost screening is something I wish everyone had access to, and something I can feel comfortable getting behind and supporting.

+100% agree. It makes more sense to me.
-
**** me, I never looked at the protos. That Amethyst made me nut so hard. I haven't joined the discord yet so I didn't realize it had been changed from pastel purple to that beautiful color. This is going to be the first purple keyboard I've ever felt strongly enough to get in on a GB for it.
-
I am very much looking forward to this!
-
Not sure if you’ve already ruled out polycarbonate but I’m casting my vote for it!

Kiko has confirmed that PC version will be made but will cost $50 more than alu version.
-
subbed. great looking board
-
I love this! What is the size/diameter for the rotary knob? I’m hoping it’s compatible with THOK/Rama artisan knobs.

I joined. :thumb:

This keyboard is a dud, there are 0 updates from the seller, kiko. Buyers are left in the dust. This guy is a scammer.
Please avoid him at all costs.
-

Overpriced compared to other keebs that offer more.

bump

EU fellas are double screwed by this.
Kiko has not delivered and there's delays after delays, furthermore the whole situation with MyKeyboard is not gonna help at all.
If you bought this board from the above mentioned vendor, best course of action is to exchange it for current in stock stuff.
