Title: Anyone interested in a full board of these #Blancks?
Post by: NZcaps on Sat, 14 July 2018, 21:04:07
We have been working on milled Aluminum caps for a while now. While testing our stems we ended up with these blanks. Thought the would look good as a full set with tight tolerances. They are pretty beefy at the moment so might bring them down to about 12mm.
Just wondering what you guys think. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180715/1a27e584475a7e3874517c95b0cea8d4.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180715/a3c17ce2eff07824e8e4240aef2d0958.jpg)

Probably not. They look terribly uncomfortable to type on.

Cheers. Was going for more form over function with these.

It would certainly look interesting. Especially in a Planck. Do you have enough of them to at least civet a decent portion? For keyboard science?

Just can't see myself using them =/

I would love to have them on a board as a display piece. I would assume the cost would  keep me from actually buying a whole set unfortunately.

Is there any way to make the alphas concave with the way you're cutting them?

We are working on some textured full sets that will be a traditional DSA/OEM profile. These were a happy accident that would be a bit cheaper for full sets because only one side needs to be machined on one side.

I would kind of like to try them, if you're seeking testers. I have experience with several different profiles, and type around 100 wpm.

How much would a full set of blanks for an 87 key "TKL" keyboard cost?

What's the weight difference between these and, say, a dsa keycap?
