I've slowly been getting back into Destiny 2 following the mass exodus that Curse of Osiris created. Warmind is a baby step in the right direction, but it'll be a long time before Bungie can even come close to regaining the trust of its playerbase considering how much better the first game was. For now I'll be playing a bit more casually, maybe raiding once or twice a week with some PVP sprinkled in, but that's about it. I'll be keeping a close eye on any Forsaken-related news because I sure as hell won't be getting it when it comes out, let alone pre-ordering it (learned my lesson the hard way from the season pass).

Destiny 2 makes me sad. I really wish there was a comparable game out there that scratched the same itch. It's such a fundamentally fun base game.

Did you see the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 from E3 yesterday? Freaking amazing I am so excited for the next CDPR game. I hope they don't muck it up. They're one of the few developers I still trust to make good games.

Currently on a steady rotation of Fortnite, Overwatch and Sea of Thieves. Fortnite and SoT when friends are on. Overwatch when nobody else is online.

This seems like a good place to ask:

I’ve been getting more and more involved with the wonderful world of Witcher 3. I’m lucky enough to have a machine that can let the game be run on almost everything on max (excluding pointless post-processing gimmicks and a few others) with outputs averaging 120fps. A few nights ago, however, that average was 400fps. This insane boost had no known trigger from my end, no OC or boosts enabled that weren’t already enabled. I just booted the game and I was running everything at the same rez and values as usual but at a RIDICULOUS 300-400fps. Lasted two 1 hour sessions, then I was back to the 120 average.

Any idea what happened?

Resident Evil Revelations 2, Raid Mode. Recently acquired Albert Wesker as a skin, so I've been maining him. Also in the process of slowly raising up HUNK to level 100.

I've also very happy now that I can play all the Raid Mode missions without any stuttering/frame rate drops. My graphics driver must have gotten corrupted at some point, but a clean install of the most recent driver did the trick.

On my switch I primarily play Zelda Breath of the Wild. On PC I'm into BF1 lately as PUBG and OW have been driving me crazy. On the lookout for fun multiplayer games though.

I haven't heard user reports even on a 1080ti of 300-400fps. No idea, other than perhaps it was being misreported. Do you have any framerate limiting options enabled either in-game or externally like V-Sync or RivaTuner's framerate capper? As if so you should only be ever getting the max framerate your monitor can support.

If it has some sort of dynamic resolution maybe..

Also possible if some part of the rendering shadow/lighting was stuck in the pipeline and didn't render.

But, most likely the report program is glitching.

Currently playing Heroes of the Storm and Dead by Daylight... Getting a bit tired of them though, since I've been playing them for a while now, so may be looking for something new. Always intermittently playing my Switch. Nothing too exciting, ha.

at least I guess you got a good deal now

and you're not that late compared to me just recently starting diablo III. Had it for some time now, but never started it

trying to get my StreetFighter game back up on the Switch currently though.

I do miss playing battlefield 3 (had it on console), it was so fun. I also played BF4 but ended up playing jets only. I think BF3 had a better FPS experience than BF4.

I played a lot of Diablo III when it came out, but haven't touched it since probably 2015. Nothing beats raiding with friends though.

Bought and played that game ever since it came out. Not as much as D2 LOD, though. I stopped playing it but I think it got better over time.

Same as the xbox/ps4 version, just alittle behind in the updates. Looks fun as hell. I'm looking forward to it as well. As far as I know it's not really an MMO more just an online coop; similar to borderlands (1-4) without a humongous world, but large fighting areas. I'm not sure if they are still instanced like in other games or connected, but the game looks fantastic. Legitimately one of the most hyped games for me in awhile.

Yakuza 4 and Mortal Kombat 9 on PS3. I overlooked MK9 when it was out because I don't generally like MK pacing, but it's a surprisingly deep fighting game and paced closer to something like a Tekken. Good game.
Yakuza has lots and lots of cutscenes, I wish there was more game and less cutscenes. One of my game design pet peeves is taking agency away from the player, I think it's important with a hot medium like video games to fully explore the aspect of player control and avoid anything like a cutscene or dialogue boxes, and instead tell the story as it happens because we don't pause the world around us in real life.

It's free to play, but I like how everything in the game can be attained without spending a dime. There are cosmetics that are locked behind the premium currency (platinum), but you can sell in game items to other players for platinum to buy them. I spent ~$60 so far, but don't think I'll ever need to buy more when I can just sell items. I figure that's about the price of a premium game anyway, so I'll get a bit of a head start as well.

It's honestly a great system, and I hope more free to play games follow this model in the future. There is a lot of grinding, but that's kind of expected from a game like this.
