i'll post a few of my past W/C rigs and my current one.

My first adventure into watercooling back in 2007.  It was just starting to get mainstream but there weren't a whole lot of elegant solutions to mounting a radiator other than hanging it off the back.  I went a lian li v2000 ($300 case ) and decided to hack the top out for a 320 rad and one cpu block.  q6600 ran super hot so i wanted some head room.  wire management was a nightmare in the case but i didn't really care that much at the time.  Inverted ATX sucks imo but i made due.

Specs from what i can remember
More
Q6600 Lapped 3.6 ghz
EVGA 680i mobo (AWFUL AWFUL BOARD)
EVGA GTX 8800
2x WD 150 gig raptors raid 0
Corsair Dominator 4gb 1066 mhz ?
Lian Li V2000 Case
Various WC components - i don't remember honestly

2008-2009
More

This build was supposed to be a budget second computer for the basement but it ended up being close to a $5000 dollar build at the time.  i went a little overboard for a WOW box lol.  I started with an Antec P280 case but i ended up getting rid of it for a CM HAF 932 for a little more room.  The haf was completely dissembled rivets and all to be painted.  I took my time with this build due to its complexity.  I tried my best with wire management but i just had too much **** in this case for it to be show quality.  by the end of the build i wanted function over form so...

ready for paint

excuse the RD haha

shipped in from germany

Fesser 340 MM radiator for one of the loops.  This thing was such overkill it wasn't even funny...  It was a limited edition run that they had as an open box at microcenter.

340mm rad vs 320 rad LOL

not bad for my first sleeving attempt.

EK pump heads

front painted with 2 bay res's

this as just about the only way i could mount this thing...

bleeding the air!

Bitspower Fittings
Fesser Monsta 340 Rad
Danger Den? 320 rad
2x Lian D5 pumps with EK pump heads
2x bitspower bay res's

2013
More
I built this pretty cheaply.  A lot of open box stuff from Microcenter. :)  i didn't take a lot of pictures for this build because it wasn't really anything custom going on.  I didn't sleeve anything and it was an AIO W/C setup.  Just a final picture

SPECS:
Intel 3770k @ 4.7 ghz 1.3v
2x 8gb Corsair Dominator 1800 mhz
2x Nvidia branded 660 Ti 1200/6000
Samsung 840 SSD 256gb
WD 1TB Black
Corsair AX860 PSU
Corsair 650 D Case
Corsair H100i CPU Cooler

The sandy/ivy bridge cpus are so STUPIDLY easy to overclock.  its like 3 settings in the bios and i had a stable system in like an hour haha.  I big change from the old FSB days.  getting a decent stable overclock always took me like 8 hours to get it perfect.

yeah exactly.  i don't have the time i used to.  I would drain, clean and re bleed the lines at least once a year.  i may go back to a custom WC setup eventually but i will never do a dual loop ever again.  They are a huge pain in the ass.

my H100i is holding up quite well.  3770k is running at 4.7 ghz and under full load it doesnt go past 75 degrees.

EDIT:
Jokrick - i didn't even see your setup up there.  that thing is clean as hell too.  i have to try a white case one of these days.  they look so nice.

I still want a custom loop though
but not so extreme, maybe just cooling a cpu and a single card with 360+240 rad in a mid tower case
man Im in love with sm8-x caselabs

that is overkill for a cpu and one gpu.
I have a 2x gtx580's on one 360 and a 2600k on a 240
cpu = loop 1 and gpu's = loop 2

I dont understand the word overkill :p

currently running 360+480+240 for SLI 670, mosfet and a 4.8ghz 3770k

dual loop in a mid tower case is amazing, its really hard to work with
well cone

the sm8's are pretty cool.  I'm really glad manufacturers are starting to accommodate custom loops.  I remember back in the day, i would do just about anything for a mountain mods asscention case.

Very clean. Nice

Thanks.

Wow! I'm really digging the looks of those cables. Really neat rig!

Thanks.  I have changed it several times, and decided I wanted something that I had not seen done before (and it matched my mobo).

That's a clean-looking case!  I could never get my Lian-Li's cables quite so organized (too many hard drives...), ended up moving to a larger model.

I have done the large case thing, and wanted to try to get a nice clean smaller rig but still be able to use my full ATX mobo.  The key to the minimal cabling was the modular psu and making my own cables.

Here is my old setup:  Corsair 600T LE with the same basic hardware except 6870 gpu and full loop for cpu (240 rad, pump/res combo).  I was able to get over 4.2 ghz on this setup daily use, but just didn't like all the noise and how huge it was.

Looks great ApocalypseMaow, you actually made that case labs looks the correct size (instead of grossly oversized).  Now you just need one of these:
Nah. I like the goldish/brown one that's on there.   :p

Alphacool UT60s 3x120. I'll have two in the back half... Hope to get them standing upright, but might have to put one up top and the other in the middle... Working that all out now!  ;D

That's a nice clean build!  Is that opening above the CPU fan a slot for an optical drive?  Couldn't tell from the front of the case if the upper section is a door for a DVD drive.

Thanks!  Are you talking about to the left of the fan?  If so, that's actually for the power supply.  From the front of the case, that's the slot for a DVD drive, but you have to remove the panel in order to install it.  I have a external usb one that I've been using so I figure I didn't need to buy an internal one.

That is a nice little builds

Thanks!  I think I like the small form factor so much that all my builds from now on will probably be the same.  I was able to fit the cpu and all the cables along with my mouse and keyboard into a duffle bag to transport, very convenient!

Provided you can keep the rig cool, I like the smaller cases too.  Both of my last two purchases have been smaller cases.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I was worried about that too so I replaced the stock front fan that it came with and added another case fan inside with scythe typhoons.  My temps usually read around 40 C for the cpu and 30 C for the motherboard.  Which...isn't bad I guess?  I really don't know what temps are considered good.

Thanks!  Can anyone school me a bit on water cooling?  Is it that much cooler?  Worth it over air cooling?
