Final renders of the Camping Rama cap

More

First render of the Rama cap, we are still adjusting the legend, will share new render once I receive it from Rama.

Update 15/09/2019: Finalized base kit design

GB will be available on Oct. 1st

Update 23/08/2019: Kit design rev. 3

Since Latin alphas will be provided, I'm renaming this to Camping r2 which is more logical and to avoid confusions in the future.

Update 09/08/2019: Kit design rev. 1 with novelty kit and community kit.

I know a few ppl are looking at these novelty keys with GMK Camping r1 in mind.
I tried to bring something that's different from r1 but still has the spirit of the set in this run.
And try to achieve what I think Camping is missing from my perspective as a enthusiast who owns r1, that's actually what this run is all about.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Geekhackers,

This is what I've been working on lately...Here I give you the GMK Camping in Japan.

This new run of GMK Camping will be Japan themed and content a whole new novelty keys kit.

I wanted to run this only with hiragana legends and individual novelty kit to be separated from the r1 run.

Hence the owners of GMK Camping r1 who doesn't want the new novelty keys but hiragana legend base can purchase only the base and vice versa.

The new run will consist a base kit, a novelty kit and a spacebar kit.

Here with the first revision of the base kit. Thank you in advance for any suggestion regarding kit design and novelty key design!

Cheers.

Need feedbacks on OG Hiragana sublegends v.s. mono-legends like Bento and Laser, please express your preferences!

TO DO:
- Finalize novelty kit design
- Finalize base kit design
- RAMA cap
- More renders
- GMK price inquiry
- GB goes live!

Am I correct in assuming there will be a handful of new novelties? (I see one already).

I would be in for a novelties kit just to go with my existing GMK Camping... and spacebars since I didnt buy the first time around.

I think it is just the render. My intents is to use the same colors as r1.

Not personally a huge fan of hiragana on this set - would be awesome if you at least offered a OG Alphas kit if it's not going to be in the base.

Gmk camping is easily one of my top3 gmk sets. I was super excited to see beeing rerun. In my honest opinion I dont think the sublegends fit the theme at all and I would have much preferred a revamp of the kits. That beeing said if you decide to go with sublegends/hiragana only, I would love to see an additional "normal" legends kit beeing run.

Are you still going to run the GMK Camping R2 or this is already the R2?

A few questions:

1) Caps Lock has a windowed version. Will there be versions of this for (Scroll) Lock and Num Lock?

2) Will there be accents in the base kit?

3) How's it feel to get US ISO support perfectly right in the first try? :D

4) Depending on feasibility, will you consider separating the base kit in mods and alphas?

5) JIS keyboards have two more alphas (the yen key in R1 between =+ and 1U backspace and the \_ R4 key between /? and 1.75U right Shift). Given the shortened right Shift is already in the base kit, would the addition of the necessary three keys (yen, 1U backspace and \_) be under consideration? In my case, I don't care either way, but would be good for others to know with certainty what the designer decides will be the case.

Love it, instead of hunting on the aftermarket for non-overpriced sets of R1 I'd much rather just buy into a R2. Huge fan of the colors and have been looking for something to pair with a future build.

In any form that it could come back in, glad to see it's at least in the process.

1) I guess not, keeping the base kit balanced between price and compatibility is my intention.
2) Yes, we will update the render in the coming revision, I'm thinking about accent ISO enter and numpad enter.
3) It's a mistake of the first revision of render to not have the side-printed ISO legends like r1.
4) I'm not a huge fan of splitting the alphas and mods and that's going to bump up the total price with GMK.
5) This is a really nice suggestion, I'll look into that.

I'm a fan of this.  The novelty you've got is great.  My vote is for sublegends.

Maybe for one of the other novelties you could have koinobori?

PS. I do hope the original set gets run again at some point :)

Im more of a regular alphas sorta guy. If it runs with sublegends, and I can get someone to trade their R1 for cash and R2, ok. Would pay for regular alphas as a kit

The main feedback I want to give is a Hiragana only kit for this set, like GMK Wavez Kobe kit. I'm not too big on the sublegends personally, but I can see the theme you're aiming for this time. Camping is probably my favorite set, so I will probably grab this regardless. Wish this set the best of luck.

Even tho I already got R1 of camping, I‘d buy the whole set just because of the green iso enter! Please leave this in and not just add the accented one as there was in R1. :)

Really excited about the hiragana legends and in general looking forward to this (also to the new novelty keys, since I love the ones from R1 already especially because they are kinda suble, fit perfectly and are not all that „in your face-y“ as they are in a lot of sets!)

I do like the camping colorway a lot, but the sublegends here give me some mixed feelings with regard to theme. I really hope the novelties really tie in said theme and strengthen it. GMK Yuru Camping anyone?

That being said, a latin (standard) character kit or hiragana mono legends kit would be really nice to see!

I suspect people who prefer ANSI won't have trouble selling off their unwanted ISO Enter keys from this kit! Heck, I know I'd love to get this one, too! (and the one from R1 as well).
