Just get a Model M F77. TKL (+ FRL)… more solid than any board out there and can be as flat as you like.  Backlighting is for laptops.

Holy film grain, batman!

It does look like great fun seeing it "in person"
I was gonna get rid the grain as well as fix the highlights but was too excited to and just posted the pics.

All you need to do is just give it a minute after unplugging mains.

Educate by giving good advice not by putting off with worse scenario scary stories.

Simply unplugging it is not going to guarantee you have discharged everything.

Keyboards / Re: HHKB Hybrid Type S: Black or White (or Snow) for FEELS?

In general I think the white one is perceived to be smoother and quiter, because the material (POM) used for white sliders.
But in reality it comes down of how sensitive you are and how you personally feel when you touch the keyboard, in reality they don't have to much of a difference

Keyboards / Re: How to turn on NumLock on Model M mini?
« Last post by GrayMatter4tw on Tue, 07 May 2024, 05:32:12 »
try pressing the "Fn" key along with the "ScrLk/NumLk" key.
This should toggle NumLock on.

Waiting for feedback

Personally I don't think metal is the best typing experience. If construction is good a plastic keyboard is actually nicer to type on and the sound is nicer too. I think the reason we see so many aluminium custom boards is that for short runs or is easier to do than have malls made.

I just got the Melgeek Modem 97,  which isn't metal, but it is a beast. Heavy enough to not move  anywhere due to typing.

That's good to know, I think the OP will find this very helpful, especially 9 YEARS later hahah

When doing something for long enough you eventually lose that spark that started the hobby, however I come back to it once in a while every few years or even a few times a year, depends on how I'm feeling about it, so I guess it's fun to stay updated on your once main hobby especially if you've spent DAYS of your life on it and see what else has changed, kind of like a grandparent who enjoys listening to his grandchildren tell them about what they learned today and they feel happy
