Hi, I'm $W4GK!NG, it has been over 2 years since I started this hobby, this is my first keyboard project.
I saw a Kmac Mini, I instantly fell in love, so I made this board, the naming sake and color choices are some weeb **** no one probably cares about.

Latest Update

GB Date has been confirmed, Liberi GB will be running starting from July 22nd 2022 to August 5th 2022

There will be 4 vendors avail

Price per keyboard will be $545.00CA / €500.00 (incl. 19% VAT) / $589SG / 6,299,00Rp respectively with 100MOQ

- Material: 6063 Aluminium and Brass Weight
- Color: Anodized Blue or Grey with Coated Sand Blasted Weight
- Plate: Sandblasted Polycarbonate with MX Cutout (Alps plate will be available later)
- PCB: Solder only with Alps support using an ai03's daughterboard
- Typing angle: 6°
- Width: 358mm
- Front Height: 22mm adjusted
- Weight: 1664g unbuilt
- Mounting: Top mount
- Layout: Refer to the picture below

Colors

The 2 colors are RAL 5000 and RAL 7011.
As mentioned before, the color choices were based on some weeb stuff, I'm not gonna bore yall with that

Prototype & Iteration

I don't have the means to get another prototype in a different color at the time so you will have to forgive me on that, but anyway, this blue prototype was built in the most basic of all layouts.

I typed on that for a month and I don't like how muted the spacebar was so I decided to add some acoustic cut on the spacebar area both on my prototype and the model.

And I ended up in-filling the front engraving with acrylic paint.

For the actual run, there is some amount of change compared to the prototype unit, the case wall size has been reduced and the wall that separated the xt column has been thickened a little, I also added a chamfer all around the bottom case and the seam, and also the plate height from plate to top case is increased from 7.5mm to 7.8mm so that keycaps other than GMK will not float.

Anyway here's a sound test of the first build of the prototype unit, without the spacebar cut yet.

Pricing, Availability & Vendors

Ideally, I would love this to be around $450US + Shipping at around 100 MOQ + a few FNF units, Time frame is probably Q2 Q3 2022, still have to finalize the stuff about vendors. Reminder that with more vendors and higher interest, I might be able to run this with a higher MOQ and that will definitely lower the price.

I was originally planning a private buy before doing a public run, sadly a payment problem was discovered and I can't run a private buy on my own, and all the change was a cosmetic too

P.S. I also agree with the comment above, I think 450 is a tad bit high. And if you’re getting vendors for this, I think you can get a higher MOQ like 250. I don’t know much about these stuffs, so don’t take my words seriously. seeing that weight with that price, i changed my mind. price is nice. but still if you have vendors i think you can get a higher moq, thus lower price.

the font picked for the front engraving was picked for the curves and cuteness(?), I went through a couple of fonts and ended up using this one, the other candidate was either too serious looking or too extravaganza
