Hi hi. How much are keycaps from a Realforce 104Pro 10th Anniversary Edition worth? The spacebar has some shine. I'll take a picture soon. Here's a pic that isn't mine:

I know for a fact that the owner licensed that picture as a CC-BY.

Sorry, I wasn't being mindful. I've edited my post and linked to your picture.

Price check on this Cherry PBT dyesub set? A little hard to tell, but sounds like the alphas are decent, spacebar is scratched, and numpad is fairly worn. I offered $110, maybe too low? What do you guys think?

$110 is about right. It's a mixed set - see the alt gr key.

For a G80-1800HFU, assuming it's in very good condition and beige I would say up to $80ish. If it is some other colorway or has anything else that isn't totally standard maybe it could be worth a bit more.

$100-110 is a reasonable price for that dyesubs set. Just because it has Alt Gr doesn't necessarily mean its a mixed set, as I have seen some US sets with an Alt Gr before though it is atypical. Spacebar isn't a big deal as you can pick up another one from a cheap lasered board/set.

Would anyone want to trade an mx candy corn blank for a topre one, or are mx cc's more rare? Not asking to trade with someone, just asking for some insight into the world of Click Clack trading.

I believe this is an Ambra ICPI Modem M buckling Spring keyboard in 9.5/10 condition. There is no Ambra sticker on the front anymore but on the back we have the serial and such.  I have cleaned out the keyboard and keycaps as well, everything is intact.

I have a full-size Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja that's been my work keyboard for about 3 years. Recently it died and I'm not sure whether the problem is with the cable or the controller.

Can anyone give me a quote for the board as-is? I'm trying to determine whether I'd be better off repairing the board or just buying a new one. Thanks!

I've seen a few custom cables but they all seem quite expensive. I'm more interested in just getting this board operational again as cheaply as possible. Also they were from the UK and the shipping to the US was very expensive.

I'm a total noob when it comes to custom controllers. In a separate thread I made in the main Keyboard forum someone linked me to the Kitten Paw controller. I understand that this controller is fully-programmable thanks to the onboard MCU but I don't know how you would actually program it? Also where is the best place to buy such a controller?

Sorry for going off-topic...

To answer your original question, new filcos cost like 150 EUR/USD, used go for about 100 EUR/USD. I don't really follow classifieds/eBay, but I doubt anyone would pay more than 50 EUR/USD for a broken one.

AFAIK more people than just Pexon make custom cables. For replacement controllers, DT wiki has an overview.

For a broken/for parts filco, with no idea what the problem is, I'd have trouble even justifying $50 USD. You have options for people in the states and Canada who do modding/repairs, depending on what the problem ends up being, it may be cheaper to pay someone to make the repair if you're not comfortable. It would depend on shipping, but I can't imagine a cable or controller repair costing more than a new board, even if you could get $50 for the board as-is.

I don't have an issue doing the repair. I'm 95% sure the problem is either the cable or the controller (both of which are very easy) but I haven't been able to nail down which is the exact issue. My choices are to buy a new cable/controller together and then just have a spare, or take a gamble and buy one or the other and then possibly having to pay double postage if the one I buy first isn't the fix. An assembled/testing KittenPaw is $30+shipping and the cheapest replacement cables I've seen are $25 shipped so a repair certainly doesn't seem to be "cheap" considering I could just buy another board (RK9000 or some such) for like $80.

Ah -- I was assuming you'd want another filco if you were to replace the board. As the owner of an RK9000 with reds, the build quality isn't that great. I got mine used locally for below retail price with a dead cable, and I'm still not sure it was a good purchase. I had a spare cable lying around, so it was just a matter of plugging in a known good cable, but the board doesn't have good build quality. I guess you could go with a CM board for a little more than $80 if you aren't set on filco though.

E: Took the conversation to PM, rather than continue derailing the thread.

If you replace the controller and cable with a nicer one, I think you'll have a great keyboard and it'll boost the price back to about $100... it might pay off in the end.

Selling it as-is for $50 or even $40 is still a better deal than putting in $55 of parts plus shipping on those parts plus time to do the mod, even if you value your time at $0/hr.

Mods almost never pay for themselves in resale value, unfortunately.

Yea

used switches in the flavor of blue, brown, and black--the common switches--are 20-25 cents. For used other switches, Id say 35-40, but its going down due to MK.com having all the switches for sale

Just remember you need 60 posts before you can open a WTS thread. Good condition US ANSI Poker 2's should go for $80-100 methinks, but you didn't give enough information for us to properly estimate a price.

I'd say $0.50 is about right.. 2 questions :

How do lubed vintage browns feel?

Could you go into some more detail about how they were cleaned? I have some dusty as hell nixdorfs that I want to clean out.

Part 1: I took them out of my GT cause I'm a clicky guy, browns are a no-go, so I've never tried it.

2: I only have the end-product. So I dont really know how they were cleaned, but he/she must have done a darn good job, looks like brand new

What do cherry POS boards go for? I think I want one.
There are so many.. Need a specific model + the condition you want.

Doubleshots? Lasered? G80? G81? Black? Beige? Really, a model number would be much easier.

I'll take a look at the DT wiki and then make another post. I didn't know that there were so many.

EDIT: I'm just gonna get a G80-3000. This is too hard

Thanks. Thought it would be more than that but I think I'll just keep it for now.

Hello people.
I found a cherry G80-1814HEE one week ago in a very good condition: black ISO winkeyless platemounted 1800 with clears, spanish layout.  I wanted a mechanical keyboard for working but I am no very confortable working with it  because I know that many people consider it like a great vintage keyboard.
