How does WASD know if the image is copyright? For their custom caps.. or do they just not care?

I think the point is that asking them to make keycaps with trademarked images is a major **** move. It's a tiny company and they probably don't have a full legal team to deal with researching whether or not some obscure-ass glyph is trademarked OR the resulting legal fall-out if they were to be caught producing such caps.

WASD is awesome. I've never had a problem with an order and the shipping is stupid fast (although I live like an hour away, I don't have a car or any good way to get to Milpitas). I'd like it if they stayed in business.

Fortunately a company like WASD can probably get away with the 'sold a SERVICE' defense and the suit falls through to the customer that bought the service in order to infringe copyright.

Yeah, MAYBE, but I wouldn't count on it as i am not well-versed in copyright/trademark law and they probably aren't either.

Better to made it large enough(using multiple keys) and fit in the whole alphabets cluster(may be will have some pixelated/puzzle look).

While I like the idea of a bat signal, I doubt if SP would do it due to the copyright issue.  Outsource it to China and you shouldn't have a problem.

Follow my idea above, enlarge the whole logo onto more keys so that on each keys it will not carry any meaning and thus no reason for copyright issue? trollface.jpg\

Though I can't deny that the visual quality and price factor may need to be compromised...

Just a little something I'm working on for a poker. I might get this done by WASD... but someday a doubleshot set would be incredible.
Inspiration from the Apple IIc / 'Snow White' design scheme, the Poker fn layout minus a few keys that don't do anything in OS X and some other Apple keyboards.

Anyone else in this forum a LOST fan?

I would pay $$$ to get a esc/modifier key with a dharma initiative logo. That TV series seriously made my life 10X much more fun.

I just found a custom dharma logo via google, I'm just using one to perk up interest - not to say it will be final or what we should use.

I don't think you'd be able to get that doubleshot at all: No cutter small enough for all the detail. You could maybe get it Dyesubb'd, though. I think I prefer the black on white, anyway.

Even still, you'd have to have all the edges rounded, as their cutter is only so small. If you want nice trapezoidal edges, you'd have to go PBT dyesub.

This isn't bad, as SP's PBT is much nicer than their ABS. You should see the portal keyset they made for us once.

Seconding Pokemon keys.
I'd love to have the starter's types and/or a pokeball.  Perhaps they could go on the arrow keys, or any of the other keys that are in sets of 3, or just a ball mod.

Are the line markings on the edges of the dharma logo too detailed for DS? What about Dye subing?

There should be the first gen pokemon starters and maybe more pokemon related stuff in a group buy that Changdrew is going to set up later. The charmander, bulbasaur, and squirtle look quite nice. :3

What about having greek letters on some keycaps? I don't wean replacing the letters with their greek equivalents, but I think it'd be interesting to have some of them on a dedicated keypad or something. I would totally program an access-IS keyboard to type \mu when I hit the key with that label.

'course this can be accomplished with relegendables, but I rather like the looks of some of the lowercase letters.

That said, I'm likely getting some music noted ones once WASD gets PBT out.

Something like fb likes or reddit votes (although I really don't see the benefit of a downvote in this case).

My, the Franklin Gothic one is nice.
You know, since I don't have those fonts available, some of them look the same on my web-browser. It would be much more effective to post a screenshot. I suspect the last two are the default font on my web-browser.

Do you mean this font? Linotype has a fancy flash java applet that will let me preview the font, and paste images from:

Franklin Gothic, perhaps?
