Looks good.  I'm not sure how I feel about the colorway, though.  It would probably look a lot better on an actual set of keys.  I also don't see a caret symbol or greater than symbol.  Is that deliberate?

It's deliberate. Bear in mind this is only a keyset, not an actual map. It's based on a keyboard someone found and posted here. And I'm not sure about the colors either. The keyboard-layout-editor.com link is above, feel free to play around with it.

I like it.  This set would be great for a keyboard at the office.  The space bar looks too empty.  Consider adding a legend that reads "This space left intentionally blank".  Or adding that to the case, below the space bar.

If the spacebar said SPACEBAR it would be perfect.

I think my idea sounds better than the actual execution.  There's just too much text.  I like "this side up" but it doesn't really fit with the them.   "Also blank" is good but I think the larger font makes it stand out too much.  I think "Spacebar", "Also Blank", or simply "Blank" in the same font size as the rest of the keys would work.  Or maybe go back to your original design with no legend on the spacebar.

Why hasn't there been a group buy with emacs keycaps? I mean there are vim ones...

If image is broken then try: http://imgur.com/zuGCWEE

I do know that it's not the prettiest key design but i bet some of you more experienced could refine it. Both the colors and the logo.

I hope that someone will be inspired to start a GB. Or atleast a pool on massdrop for some different designs.

I'm new to the mechanical keyboard thing, and I've really taken a liking to it.  I decided to mess around a bit and create my own mockup of a keycap layout.

I call it PRESTIDIGITATION, and it would be a curved profile SA set, made with doubleshot ABS (all of the colors used on the top of the keys are based on ABS samples.  The sides of the keys are just darkened to give depth to the image).

I think it would be best with symbols for the modifiers, but I didn't have the resources available to create symbols.   Also, I use a TKL on a Mac, hence the layout.

It's based on this typewriter that I like (but know nothing about):

I'll try to finish it up if people seem to like it enough.

What about a green vim keycap in cherry profile?
I would like it to be made by gmk, but in that case it would have a text only legend. Alternatively we could use a Taiwanese maker and have a dye sub legend with the vim icon.

I suggest the esc and the caps lock key.

There have been many successful gb in spherical profiles made by sp.

You would buy separate alpha, mod, and esc/return sets so that people could mix and match them.

Thanks, and yeah, I didn't really plan on actually carrying it all the way to GB status myself, so what were originally Apple keys were changed to Ferrari logos and the rest of the TKL was removed just for ease of design.

Thanks for the feedback though.  Checkered flag would be great.

I think that uniform profile keysets should offer a child deal option of 1U keys for every keycap that is normally larger (tab, shift, enter, \|, ctrl, etc). That way, people who are into extreme reordering of their keyboard can pop one of these anywhere.

And I'm not just saying this because I want to outfit my Maltron with some snazzy colors.

Alright here it is. The most slickest keycaps you'll ever lay your eyes on.

PBT: You know of it, you've heard of it, you've read the reviews of it, a keyboard can't be slick without this material.
OED OEM profile: Its the simple touch that instead of having others think you're insane will have them be insane for you.
Cherry MX: The top of the line, you can't be seen without it.
Double shot: The new mysterious craze that everyone is talking about.
Black Color: The same color as a tuxedo, it's just that classic jet black color that makes others say that's a man who knows what's up.
Translucent backlit characters: This is where you fluff your feathers and release your inner peacock.
Oh, you think this is sick?
BAM
Side-printed characters: watch the ladies line up.

And there you have it! The slickest keycaps around. Now if only someone made these and I could purchase them :(

My buddy was interested in getting a group started for winky key set of black arch linux keys that are for back lighting. I was also thinking of a child deal with an escape key. SP is probably the best place to outsource if I did a group buy... not really where to start but if someone thinks this sounds like an interesting idea I'd love to know.

The problem is that it would only work if the LEDs are towards you and not towards the "top" of the switch

True. you could reverse switches, and it seems cherry is going to switch to clear housing same with kailh (i believe they have there made to buy already).

Edit: with the work needed to make the set work on most keyboards it would be pretty niche

Not keycaps, but it was one of tp4's more artistic moments: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=35288.35
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That's a nice one, althought there are a few things you should consider.
1) The Ferrari logo is copyrighted.
2) Most layouts include up to TLK keys.
3) You should *really* consider a checkered flag keycap, maybe the Esc key.

I'm a huge formula 1 fan; I'd love to see Williams Martini themed caps. I'd think it would be fairly easy to avoid the copyright issue.
