ePBT Camo [June 1 - July 1]

Blend in, get away

This set isn’t about the keyboard grabbing all the attention on your desk, it’s a set you’d see in a remote cabin in the snowy mountains, the type a famous writer would flee to to finish the successor to their breakthrough debut, far away from all distractions. They should really call their spouse, it’s been a while since they’ve been in contact.

As of today, the group buy has officially ended. Final numbers will be shared early next week, but I'm really happy with the amount of kits (and artisans and deskmats and D60lite's and cables and wrist rests) that were sold. Thank you all for supporting my first group buy, it means a ton. I'm going to publish a new IC soon, and GMK Diner will be available starting August 1.

Sorry I haven't posted an update yet, was hoping to receive the second round of samples sooner.

First round of samples had some color issues (my fault, not ePBT's), but the quality of the caps and legends (made with ePBT's new reverse dyes molds) has me very excited. Second round of samples is ready, and with some luck they'll be sent out to me before Chinese New Year. I will post photos once they arrive.

D60lite's colors have been approved by me. They sent me a rough sample and the colors and artwork were spot on.

For the deskmats I'm waiting on the second sample from the third factory. Colors have been tricky to match, but we should be close now. Factory I'm currently working with hasn't let me down so far 🙂

Salvun artisans are in production right now. Here are some photos I shot yesterday when I visited him.

Samples update!

Reviewed the second round of samples for Camo (first photo). Not a perfect match, but combined with colors I've seen in the first round, 3 out of 4 caps are correct (second photo, although the legends of the left cap would be slightly darker). Submitted new colors for what will hopefully be the final round of samples.

If you're interested in colors, here's what the progression looks like:

Super tricky to capture on photo, but top row were the first samples, buttom row second samples.

Colors have been approved!
Just sent KBDfans the final colors for production.
Up next: Full set of samples of all the kits, this will be used to review all the legends.

Final colors

Here are some photos of the latest round of samples (that's round 3 if you're counting). All colors are perfect, except the legends of the darkest keys (too dark). I've provided KBDfans new colors for those legends, based on a previous color sample they produced.

It's been "queued for production" for a while now. As far as I know, Ramenstop took a while to complete. Was hoping for delivery to vendors end of November, but it might be late December or early January.

A week from now we should have much better clarity around this set. I'm cautiously optimistic we should see it shipping to vendors soon.
