Back to my KBD8X MkIII, trying to get my last few tap, tap, taps in. You see, this weekend, while having cocktails, I ordered an HHKB... it will probably arrive in a week or two. I'm being told once I go HHKB I'll never go back, so trying to enjoy these last fleeting moments with MX-style switches...
BTW, since having this board, I have rotated multiple profile keycaps, multiple switches, and this weekend spent a bit of time exploring all the foam options... I ended up with thin case foam and then packing with polyfill. No other foam. I have DS White Jade switches in, which are fantastic. Interestingly, without the polyfill there was a fair amount of ping and a lot of flex feeling in the PC plate, despite being top mounted. After adding polyfill, it feels very solid, but a great, refined clack by the switches. With all the foam, I was definitely getting much more of a foamy/marbley feeling and sound.
