Repair IBM Model M stand clip
« on: Mon, 07 August 2023, 15:08:25 »
I recently did a bolt mod on my Model M. This has fixed a problem with a misfiring Esc key.

The only thing that is still broken is the clip for raising the keyboard: https://imgur.com/a/B1Fc6RQ

My plan is to solder some staples into it and then use super glue with bicarbonate soda to fill in the gaps.

Does this sound like it will work? As far as I know the plastic is of the right type where it will melt rather than burn. Also I've never used the bicorbonate soda with super glue trick before, so I'm not sure if it will be durable enough.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. But would like to avoid purchasing some new parts.
