1800 gallons of water required to produce 1 lb of beef.
do you know how much is required to produce 1 flatscreen tv or smartphone? everything does use water. but yeah less meat is good, 100g per day is what most nutritionist seems to recommend at a maximum, while most meat eating peoples eat closer to 500g per day.

That's a bad comparison.

It takes 3,190 gallons to make a cellphone.  You buy 1 once 2-3  years at most.

The average american eats ~200lbs of meat a year.

200 x 1800 x 2.5yr  = 900,000 gallons   VS    1 x 3190.

Animal agriculture is the single most polluting, highest water use, most greenhouse gas emitting industry on the planet.

with smartphones it is now closer to once a year i think, i know quite a few peoples who change even twice a year, but then maybe us with 7+ years old phones balance it out, that comment was stemming from your habit of buying new tech often, saying that being vegan does not make you a saint.
and yeah 240g per day is way way above the recommended maximum, innit? imagine cutting that in half, or even a third. just saying, cutting it fully overnight will be bad, going down to recommended intake, already a huge benefit, and then the part of the population that can remove meat from their diet can too, but about half the population simply can't without having to take large amounts of pills.
side rant: why is there so many pounds type that exists? and why some keep on using it?

For them the temps this week are no big deal, they're used to it being worse.

I hate to use the "dry heat" thing but I think people under estimate the power of it.
110F with 25% humidity feels like 117F
96F with 60% humidity feels like 116F

Phoenix at 110F is about the same as St. Louis at 96F. So while you laugh about Arizona temps it's often not as bad as people think, at least until you go to get in your car.
