(Where) can I get blank MDA keycaps?
« on: Fri, 04 October 2019, 08:56:14 »
Title says all. I think I would like some MDA keycaps for my next keyboard, but would much prefer blanks. Are they available anywhere?

Looking at Drop, they don't plan to sell MDA Blanks, sadly. I don't think other keycap purveyors plan to either.
If you're lucky enough, you might be able to commission some blank caps that are fairly close to MDA.
Otherwise, your best option right now is to buy some cheap ones and scribble out the existing legends with a white sharpie.
Linears are for linear people. No offense if you use linears.
I prefer tactile switches, I'm reluctantly using the AULA SI-859 and my pronouns are she/her.

Thanks for the quick reply, even though it's not the one I'd hoped for. Which other, more common profile would be most similar to MDA? I'd been looking at DCS, and apparently pimpmykeyboard.com does offer blanks, but they are rather pricey...

Honestly, yeah, I would go with DCS personally. Apologies that you don't have many options right now, but I'm sure somebody else will pop in with some genius suggestions soon enough. I've never understood why keycap sets that aren't sculpted or something cost so much, like, they cost as much as a whole keyboard sometimes. I do hope MDA Blanks (or relegendables) do pop up some time because MDA keycaps are absolutely radical.

YES, I agree with that.

Excuse my ignorance – what is MDA 2.0?
