Just a quick update. The keyboard arrived on Thursday. I took a few pictures, but haven't really put it through it's paces yet. Hope to do so in the next day, or two and then I'll have it shipped no later than Thursday of this week.

Ah my bad mashby...I forgot to update the OP.  There are only 2 switch types on that board....complicated blues and simplified whites.  I never got around to soldering in the Matias quiet clicks.

First off, I would like to thank Akimbo for offering his keyboard to us and organizing the tour! Prior to typing on this board, the only other Alps switch I have typed on (that I'm aware of :)) are the white Alps. I'm not a huge fan of White Alps just because my hands would fatigue after typing on them for a substantial amount of time.

When I first opened the box from Binge (ty sir, fine job of packaging), I found that I was not overly excited by the switch actuation. I didn't spend much time typing on the board in the beginning due to the Holiday's, etc.

Over the last week or so, I've been typing on the keyboard almost every day and I have to admit, the switch is really growing on me. As most of you already know, the Alps typically have a high actuation point in the switch. These blue Alps switches are clicky but also have a linear feel. I've really never felt a switch like it before. At first, I thought they would just be similar to Cherry MX Blues (which I do like for typing) but these Blue Alps have a linear feel along with a heavier click than MX Cherry Blues. It's really cool.

I also find that the weight of the switch is almost perfect, its not too heavy and not too light. I'm not sure I would personally enjoy it as a gaming board, but the Blue Alpsies are definitely in my top 3 "typing" switch now. Thanks AkimBR0 :P.

Okay. Back to the grind, and a bit of time to write a review.

So first off, after typing on a HHKB for so long, the fatigue of typing on these Blue Alps was noticeable right away. They're not even that heavy, but my fingers have become adjusted to such a light switch.

I've been trying to figure out a way to describe them by comparison to other switches more common such that people who read it can try to have an idea, but that's very hard to do because these switches are very much in a class of their own.

First, they feel GREAT. I love clicky switches. MX Blues were my first, and what really absorbed me into keyboards was that clicking sound. These switches click, but they're very far from MX Blues. The click sounds more metallic, not plasticy like MX Blues, but not as pingy as Buckling Springs. It's a very nice sound. Much, much nicer than White Alps (XMs?). The feeling is also superior. I've also tried Matias Clickys as individual switches (not in a keyboard), and the clicking is superior to those as well. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the extent of my Alps experience, so not much else to compare them to. The weight, once I adjusted was actually nice. They seem to be heavier than MX Blues to me, which is a very nice plus. I've always thought that MX Blues with a slightly heavier spring would be superior (though in my year+ here, I've still never tried them... :/ ).

The negative, unfortunately, is that they're still Alps. I know a lot of people love these switches, and they do seem to have very many different types of switches with different feels from what I hear, but they've always just felt off to me. The fact that you have to be considerate of how you press them because pressing them at an angle causes the press to feel off puts me off of them.

But, as much as Alps aren't for me, I still keep one Alps board for my own historical reasons, and with everything being said, where I was planning on swapping in Matias Clicky switches to it, I'm actually considering trying to acquire a board with these switches to put into it instead. If you're a person who enjoys clicky switches with a little weight on them as much as me, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with these.

I'd like to finish off by thanking AKIMbO for making this happen. It's always nice for a community member to be willing to help out the community to grow and gain new experiences. I truly appreciate it.

I can't afford to ship the keyboard anywhere

You are saving yourself quite a bit of money. The shipping fee, and the price of the blue Alps keyboard you would have had to buy.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

I sent the board to prdlm2009 today. I had tears in my eyes. If I wrote the review on paper, it would've been smudged. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Well, these came with Complicated Blues.  It's more like a QFR-style TK than a TKL though.

It seems to be very rare as I can't find any info on it on the net.
Collector-of-switches.  Cherry: red, brown, blue, black, grey (linear), green.  Alps: simp./comp. white, comp. blue, Matias.  NMB: white, black.  Futaba: Cherry stem.  Omron: yellow.  Topre: 45g  Various: Apple II+, TRS80 Model 1, C64, Acorn Electron, ZX81 (lol!).
