howdy, yet another newbie

Hi! I've been doing mechanical keyboards roughly forever (I am just now taking the switches off some original Kinesis Contour keyboards from back in the PS/2 and ADB era.) I have a couple of Topre realforce 87U keyboards around, but my primary typing these days is on Ergodox EZ with gateron switches (basically the same as cherry mx brown, I think, and I think they've since switched to using the MXs in newer boards).

Actually found this forum because of an unrelated electronics hobby, which led to me discovering the "Enabler" circuit board design and a thread on here about it. I'm building a small lighting controller and wanted buttons and it turns out that I have a lot of spare cherry MX switches in good working order, so I'm just gonna go ahead and use those.

I am sort of tempted to try to make a custom keyboard which is a fair bit like the ergodox, only with another row or so of keys (to get separate function keys back), but this is probably WAY above my skill level.
