I'm concerned with your choices of colour references. As someone who likes the original keyset and wants this replica to turn out looking similar; I ask you kindly to please do better. I have shown comparisons between the current and more accurate colour references you could choose instead. There are other greens you could go with - but for example 359 is much too yellow whereas with 2412 it is closer to the right tone and could be made lighter to match the inspiration.

Alphas + sublegends is a bit busy for me but I like the look of the kana option.
(Also is it me or are the rows messed up in the base kit image?)

As a couple of others have mentioned, it’s a little disappointing not to see JIS support in a set that literally references JIS in its introductory text. I do understand that there is a balance to be weighed between the effort of making a JIS kit and the actual demand for it, but it would be nice to see it at least considered.
Credit where credit’s due: at least your kana kit is close to being usable on a JIS board. You are just one key off for the alphas: please add an R1 ー key. If possible, a 1U backspace would also be required if one wanted to fit these onto an actual JIS board, and even for non-JIS users I think split backspace is pretty popular these days.

I don’t feel strongly, but I tend to prefer 改行. The alternative, リターン (katakana rather than hiragana fwiw), looks fine on the ANSI enter key but somehow feels a little cramped on the ISO/JIS enter key. Maybe that’s just me, though. Also the legends seem to be rendered much smaller on the ANSI than the ISO versions?

It would be useful to see a list of all the sublegends as they’re a little difficult to go through systematically squinting at the renders. They mostly look ok; I’m not sure about 上がる and 降りる, though. Page Up and Page Down are more usually 「前ページ」 and 「次ページ」, I think, which could also be spelt 「前頁」、「次頁」 if you wanted to get fancy / fit in with the other two-kanji legends. If you really want to use 上がる, I feel like the better opposite would be 下がる; 降りる is more like you’re stepping down from a train or something.

AFAIK most of the JIS boards are Topre and the user base is pretty tiny, maybe i'm wrong.

If you check closely on the ISO UK kit, it's incomplete because there is no "$ 4 €" key due to the japanese sublegend. NorDe kit is full of those kind of keys and it would definitely denaturate the aesthetic of the keyset. As french, if this would have been possible i'd add a AZERTY FR/BE kit too (even if i never use it).

I'll add onto this, the whole reason for going 3keys to support 40s is that gmk pricing is honestly horrible. A big huge kit that supports everything costs half as much as the already overpriced keyset. As ddds aesthetic has shown you can support 40s twice over and still be under the budget of a gmk set. So to not do a proper 40s kit with epbt would be very disappointing and I hope you can reconsider as the set looks amazing now that I have seen it.

So, the physical compatibility is specifically recommended for GMK keycap sets. This is due to the 100 unit MOQ on GMK child kits paired with the higher costs of GMK sets. As there is no MOQ on ePBT child kits and they are very affordable, there is no reason to not offer a full kit over a very compromised base kit inclusion.

As a newbie to keycap sets, and at the risk of being somewhat dense -- How do I make sure I get in on this order?
I went to the US link for Mechs & Co and didn't see an obvious (to me) link there. I did put myself on the waiting list at kdfans.com, but not sure if that's any kind of guarantee of getting a set, or a help in getting this into production.
If and when this goes into group buy, it'll be announced in this space. Then you'll have a window of a few weeks to get your order in from the vendor of your choice. Joining the waiting list at kbdfans just signs you up for you an email notification once the group buy is live.
Is this kit with the colors even possible with GMK? Since you know, they don't do triple shot?
I think most would probably agree with this, but the scroll lock should definitely have an led window, or at least there should be both in the base if some don't want it. I think the scroll lock where it is without side printing breaks up the "business" of the top legend with side printing nav keys that make this set look so unique. The scroll led would just add more to that unique look.

Not sure if I'm being daft, but then wouldn't the UK-ISO set be missing ろ ? As it wouldn't be able to fit on ` ¬ , but on the base kit ろ is moved to < > on R4?

i am really interested in kana and text kits however i would need the base kit just for space bars since i would prefer not to use mod colored space bars. definitely a pricey option since i only want the 7u.
maybe there's another way to drive numbers to hit MOQ?

Indeed we're hoping to launch the GB by the end of the year. Kbdfans told me that they don't want to schedule another GB without having some of the previous GB out; just in case of issues. To not reproduce the drama with Keyreative that happened lately.
Side note: I'm waiting for all the new renders for the kit i provided earlier in the thread. Will update once i got those.

Hey zekth, consider changing the second 1u Ctrl key in the base kit to Code to give it some extra flexibility (like you did in Be The One). :) The second 1u Ctrl on it own isn't very useful as pretty much no modern layouts outside of 40s use 2× 1u Ctrl. Code is a generic key that could work as both Ctrl and a few other things (Delete, Fn2 etc.). In fact, I suggest changing Ctrl → Code as well as removing the R4 1u Delete, since that key would also be covered by Code.
On a different note, in the JP legend reference, you listed Code as corresponding to 英数. However, I don't think that makes sense, as 英数 has a specific meaning on JP layouts (toggling between kana/kanji and alphanumeric characters). You may want to use コード instead.

Hey there, i've updated the translation reference in the main post with everything currently up to date.
The base kit has been adjusted to have only 1 1U Ctrl and 1 1U Code. R4 1U Delete has been removed.
I'm slowly getting back in shape in the project, i also talked with Kbdfans on when the production will run. With the current queue there is no hope before 2024; but i can assure you this set will run as i want it for really long time.
Regarding colors, i might change the green as it's the same i used in "Be The One" and it's good on that set but on the pantone it looks ok but on plastic that's too light to me. Once i've picked up once that would fit i'll definitely share it.
