Hooty is quite the grumpy little owlet, usually disgruntled, tired, generally unimpressed, and always waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

Hooty will feature low contrast and saturation doubleshot greys throughout the set and novelties, with soft, bright pink UV throughout the base and novelties. Same pink will be used as the doubleshot accent legend, and the keycaps in the accent kit. Grey keycaps and legend in the accent kit is GMK 2B. Pink and light grey are custom.

Hello all. Checking in for a quick update. The switch collab will be going on pause for now. The thought for the moment is that these might run again closer to ship date. Sorry to those that wanted to support the idea, I feel I have let all you down for the moment but, I do hope to bring these back a little later on. Normal procedure for refunds from vendors will proceed. Cheers and sorry.

They show as available in the EU, UK and Australian vendor so I am confused.

Understood, but maybe I worded myself poorly.
IllumKB, MYK, Prototypist and Dailyclack still allow you to purchase the Switches. It seemed easier (to me at least) to remove them, instead of letting people still purchase them, only to refund them after the GB is over.
Especially since not everybody reads the GB Thread so they might be disappointed.

I hope they will return in the future, would love them to finish my Hooty builds  :thumb:

Hmm, well I don't run a vendorship or sales site myself, to be quite honest, so I'm not entirely sure what the easier process for them is. This is the information I was passed (that refunds go out after conclusion - it's usually how this happens.) and passed that along myself.

As far as communication, it was also announced in my server, suppose could have done a little more to communicate, but it's not something I'm very happy about tbh.

They will be back soon though, there were some internal details that we couldn't work out in time unfortunately. Will be sharing more info when everything is ready!

Hi!! The Hootster has started arriving on some lucky peoples' desks.
Figured I would get in here quick and let you know that there is small visual difference with the single pink used in the set.
Pink was as a legend accent on some caps, so these are doubleshot, pink was also used as the subs legend color, these legends are UV.
So basically, there is a small difference in the saturation / vividness of the pink when compared from the doubleshot accent caps, to the UV printed sub legend.
While I haven't seen this in person yet, it doesn't make the set unusable or anything dramatic like that, but I understand this might disappoint some people.

Try looking around at pictures of the melbourne meetup and see if you can find an image of the swtichkeys stand ok it might not have been that stand but one member of the aussie mech community showed me it and I believe he said hooty. I'm pretty sure it was hooty but maybe I'm misremembering.

The colours seemed to match but because of the uv printing of the sublegends, the sublegends are far less saturated than the doubleshot pink which may a bit disappointing but is expected if you know about uv printing on gmk.

As usual, lighting will always play a big role in how things are displayed.

Should have the set in hand by next week, so not really going to judge just yet, but seems like it's pretty close to my original comment. There is a bit of a difference between in the saturation and vibrance of the pink, but it shouldn't be a really big deal or make the set unusable. Hope you might still enjoy the set, but I do understand that this deviates slightly from the original idea. I have been hearing positive comments from people who have their sets, which has put me at ease.

Heyo, so set came in a couple days ago, and yeah it's fine heh.
Pink sub is a little less saturated a little less vibrant than the doubleshot.
It's not something that super stands out as a big difference.

It would have been nice if manu mentioned something about this during production, but nothing I can personally do about their insistence about not communicating with their community and customers, (maybe another go over the alphas with the pink UV might have helped). Again though, it's not something that makes the set unusable or distracting or anything like that. 

Please keep in mind to see something in person before judging colors, look at it under different lighting situations, etc...
Don't let a low quality image with poor lighting conditions be your judge and jury.
