Hey Weaston, I know you initially said you wouldn't release plate files. Is there any way that could change? I only bought one plate and am regretting that now. Thanks

I would like to add a +1 here - I initially bought an alps plate only, but would like an MX plate as well!

Whenever these ship, a cool sticker design that says something like "I survived GSKT-00 GB 20' - 22'" would be kinda sick. I was really digging how Omni added extra stuff for GMK Drac. I wouldn't want a sticker to cause an extra delay though..

Weaston, for unknown reasons, took forever to order the oring gaskets despite it being a major element of the keyboard. He ain't got time for stickers lol

Yeah, it should only take Weaston a year or so to get a sticker like that made.

Please don't encourage him to delay shipping these.

Hey it's been 6 weeks, think it's time for another status report. Is cerakote done? Have you started packing anything? Have you done any more address changes? Has a proper and thorough qc been done? Are we still on track for "early part of 2022" whatever that means? It's fine if you need more time, just don't leave us in the dark for so long. I'd actually prefer regular updates that say "I haven't done anything" over radio silence.

I think we are overdue for an update here. I have refrained from posting here because I believe Weaston has good intentions, but this has gotten out of hand. It has taken so long that no-one has any financial recourse, and seems to be often forgotten about. I hope the moderators will continue to ping him regularly so we can get updates.

Hello all, Happy Holidays!

I am still in the process of getting everything packed up.  I do have some backlogged address changes to get through that I am waiting to fully respond to until such time shipping is fully underway as there have been many more change requests for the same orders and I'd like to batch them all together.

Again I just wanted to say thank you for your patience or at least for waiting while things have gone so slowly on my end.  This whole GB has been botched as far as the wait times and I know and I take full responsibility and I understand how it feels to wait to long as I've done it myself.  I can only say that they are being packed up in any free time that I have whatsoever and I am wanting to get this off my plate just as much as you want to receive your boards.  I wanted to do something to make it up in some way like some extras for everyone or stickers or something but I think you would all rather get your boards and be done so all I can do at this point is put care and time into the packing and shipping so that you all can have what you paid for.

The final news for probably the year is that I'll be packing everything up and hoping to finish and begin shipping by the early part of 2022.  I also don't feel comfortable shipping boards during the holiday season as so many packages get lost and that has happened a lot to me, and I would rather not risk people not getting them so it will certainly be in the new year.

Thank you again for the patience and again I am sorry for the wait and it is my fault for not having things organized better and thinking I could do a GB of this magnitude by myself.  Turns out I was unable to keep any semblance of decent timing and for that I really am sorry.

Here are some pictures of the gaskets all individually packed and some boards and pcbs.

It has now been 51 days since Weaston's previous update which exceeds Geekhack's rule of one update a month (~30 days on planet Earth).

I sure would like to see an update for the keyboard I bought nearly 2 years ago!

What's the reason for the delay now? Or are we just waiting for a shipping notification/show up at door?

I still don’t think they’re being packed. I still know of people with outstanding address change requests, and no one has gotten a shipping notification. Apparently honest and open communication has just been too much to ask for.

Delays were expected due to Covid, but we’re way past that now. Let this serve as an example of how to not run a GB.

There is literally no excuse at this point.

Can confirm. I’ve tried to contact him three times via email and once through Geekhack DM for a single address change starting back in May 2020. I don’t want to spam the dude but I’d like to know that my order won’t show up at the wrong location.

I've spoken to an attorney about this. He believes that there is certainly a case here. With some very rough numbers, let's say there are 200 participants in this group buy and that the average cost per participant is somewhere around $300. That means that the total amount payed to Weaston (Gray Industries, LLC via Shopify) was somewhere in the neighborhood of $60,000. There are a few options.

The attorney says that the group could bring a lawsuit and that the cost to do this, if all 200 group buy participants also participated in the lawsuit, would probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 per participant. This probably isn't the first course of action to take, but is absolutely an option available to us and not something so astronomical as to be completely out of the realm of possibility.

Separate from a civil lawsuit, the attorney believes that taking $60,000 without delivering any product likely constitutes felony fraud. As such, we are going to begin a discussion with The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services which, as far as we can tell, seems to be the appropriate department to take the first steps with.

My PMs are open for any questions. I do not yet need any personal information from anyone to continue moving forward. However, it would be helpful to start getting an idea about who's interested, and how much you spent on this GB, separate from this thread, just so these rough numbers can get slightly less rough. If either course above is to be taken, we'll need to offer evidence. It will also likely be possible for the attorneys to get this information from Shopify if a lawsuit is filed.

It is still my sincere hope that Weaston will simply do the right thing, expediently, and ship everyone's orders. I do not believe he has any malicious intent and do not savor the idea of having to take this to court. I think we all just want this to end with everyone as happy as is possible at this point.

Hello all, hopefully you all had a nice holidays.  Packing has been going well throughout last month and this month and we are on track to ship a major portion of orders by the end of next month (February)!  There will be a few small groups of orders going out all throughout February as well.  There are still some outstanding address changes (which are newer admitedly) but they will be updated this week before anything is sent out.

I just want to say please let me finish this and get me your boards, I don't want them sitting in my house, I don't want to hold you up from having them, I want to be done with this just as much as you all do.  I didn't do anywhere in the realm of a good job with this but please just give me this last bit of time to show that I am finishing it.  It will all be over soon and you guys will have your boards in hand.  I will update in the next week or so with an update about the first batch of boards going out and you'll see tracking numbers sent to you as well.  So please be patient with me as we are in this last step and get ready to actually have your boards very soon.  Thanks all, we're finally at the end.
