GMK TeraDrive
a joint project with yuzu#0108

A keycap set based off the Sega HTR-2106.

Inspiration

Yuzu saw the Sega HTR-2106.
Yuzu liked it.
We wanted the keycaps.
We made this IC.

Due to the rarity of the board we can't exactly get one in front of us as of yet, we're still going through as many photos as we can in various lighting conditions to match as closely as possible.

I'll try and update the render in the OP, but for reference they're all 1u apart from the 1.75u caps lock keys and the single 1.25u R4 key, the spacebars are 3u and 4.5u.

Can you confirm that the kitting for the JIS kit is as pictured in the render? Those JIS numeric and punctuation keys without the hiragana sublegends ended up getting cut from GMK WoB JIS, so I believe they will require new moulds. I am very keen for those moulds to exist, though, so I very much hope that is the plan here! I’ll be in for a couple if so.

I'll double check but the renders should be correct, they were quoted by GMK as they currently are after the GMK JIS GB started running, will update if there's a change.

Unfortunately I have some sad news, it's come to my attention that the JIS kit includes keys that will no longer have existing moulds available and as such, the quote and pricing is inaccurate or even impossible, we're currently trying to get an urgent requote of a cut down version of the kit without those keys, and also exploring the possibility of getting the moulds made.

This does mean the set will be further delayed, at this stage I'm hoping for it to only be 1 week but the worst case scenario sees us launching in 2 weeks from now.

Sorry to everyone that was excited to buy this today, I hope you can keep it in your pants for another week or two.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! But I'm glad we caught this early. Much easier to get this clarified and corrected before you've had a tonne of orders of the JIS kit.

A small number of keys were axed from GMK JIS and so we can't run them either, the JIS kit will stay, just possibly with a few less keys (the keys without hiragana are slated to be removed as seen here).

Hello everyone, I have some more good news, the first round of colour samples we received were spot on to the RAL chips and have been approved!

(note: your screen is probably not colour accurate so take these pictures with a grain of salt, the main purpose of them is to show the matching of the samples to the RAL chips we were aiming for)
