Maybe a WASD Keys Design Feedback Thread?
« on: Tue, 02 August 2011, 23:06:21 »
So I've seen a couple of designs posted over in the vendor forum and in the 'in the mail' thread. I figured this would be a good place to put up designs for critique and for others to use if they're ordering custom sets. I'm on the edge of getting another set, but I'm definitely not sold on ABS.

The PBTs just feel and sound so much nicer. I just wish they weren't engraved (touch typing when you first wake up to log in is an annoying experience) and that the printed ones were deep black and not faded grey.

Here's mine:

I have blank keys, engraved and a round 1 set, so I wanted to go for bright and bold (if ordinary) this time. Not sure if it looks right, particularly for the middle section next to the alphanumerics. Any feedback? Post yours too!

I ordered this yesterday:

I decided on a dvorak layout with qwerty as subscript, something I've wanted for a very long time :) Also orange home row and 5 keys for typing in the dark. I removed the Home etc. text from the number pad since I never use it without NumLock. Just for fun I added an IWIN button and an Any Key. F10 is the menu key in Blizzard games :p

This should keep going. The WASD designer is a neat tool!

This one is a Futura Mac layout.

FYI the designer is limited, and WASD is capable of producing much more if you design the layout elsewhere.

I know, but some times limitation is powerful. I don't like flashy stuff.

WASD TKL RGYB style.

Added a second one which is similar, but with all Wingding symbols.
