I just noticed that one of my candy corns has a whiter face. Maybe he puts on make up or something.

Looks like a bite more white around the teeth, whereas the forehead looks thinner as is has a slightly more orange hue than the other two.

Probably just a different batch.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Moar oranges!  I demand more oranges.  Maybe just yellow WASD instead.
My last photo on the Halloween theme, I promise. This one with Orange alphas. The orange caps does not match the orange of the candy corns, unlike the yellow caps which goes well with the base of the candy corns.

Thanks jokrik. Took a lot of time and luck on my end too.

I am almost certain the older ones have a thicker face, and I base this solely on old photos and conjecture.

I PMed CC to see if there's anything we can do, but haven't heard back from him.  Hopefully something can be done since it's such a sexy color.  If not, I may go the way of moose and try and transform it into a BS Clack.  It just sucks that it's a loose stem.  It's almost like the stem isn't long enough or something.

I haven't said the name of the person who traded it to me since I'm trusting it was ignorance on their part since they've been a good member of the community so far and I don't want to tarnish their reputation.

I'm not hitting it any harder than you would in normal usage.  It's so loose that I don't even need a key cap puller to remove it and there's no resistance from the stem when I lift the cap off.  That makes me worry that it could pop off in transit somewhere or any other number of ways.  Clack does quality work, this one just slipped through QC and I'm worried about losing it.

If that's no problem to you, you can always trade me a tight stemmed Topre Clack for it in a color I like for it.

I guess it must be part of making a topre cap, all of my topre brobots have been super easy to come off. That is definitely a shame though.

It isn't a part.  I've been trying my hand at Topre caps.  Some do come out loose, but I mark those as seconds.  Most come out with a tight stem though.

look at dat mummy fly!

I was wondering what cap that was.  I know some of my early caps have that proclivity.

Dat 120g blue switch tho XD

Holy crap. That thing must sound like a machine gun.  I could see why that could launch some caps.

Demand a refund.  Everywhere you can.

It was a trade, so can't.  Like I said though, I don't think they have any Topre boards and it was pure ignorance on their part.  I'd rather see if I could get CC to repair the stem.
