Maybe add Å Æ Ø +? and § also so can catch the Nordic guys on the EDOX add on too?

That could work...sort of an EDOX international kit.

What about these:
I revised the German kit to include Nordic and added a German, etc ErgoDox kit.

Sounds great to me. Never hurts to add a few more key to get additional languages. Hopefully more interest mean cheaper add on.

There was a comment on PMK asking about JD40 and if it would work....

(Attachment Link)

Oh yeah!!

If I add a few caps to the Specialty set, the JD-40 can be populated using the base, gradient and specialty. Not sure about a 40% specific kit.

I would be in for a JD40 kit for sure! This looks great.

That looks great. And it will hurt my wallet  ;D ;D :-X

Do you already know what could be the MOQ for those small kits?

Most will probably be around 25. Some may be lower for those that could have trouble reaching 25.

This would be all that we would need, bud.

I wonder what I'd need to use this on a Planck or Atomic keyboard.

Blanks will be offered, so it could be done that way. The gradient would be at a much more acute angle, but could work.

The german kit will not tip with 25 I think. I remember the Deep Space GB the last month. The ergodox kit had a MOQ of 25 and did not tip. And those were attracting a wider buyers group than a nordic/german/slavic kit  :-[

I wondered this as well, since I'm building one. I've been meaning to shift the layout to see how the colors look on an ortholinear board, but surprisingly haven't found the time for such a simple project.

This set sure has come a long way since I first posted the picture! Who knew what a catalyst it would be.

Yes...45 degrees....whether that's perfect or not is up to the beholder.

It looks very similar to the look of the ErgoDox.
I think personally, I prefer the angle on a classic stagger.

RE: ErgoDox kit

Have you happened to confirm with SP that the legends can be oriented "vertically" on the 1.5u and 2u mod keys?  The last time this came up we were told by SP that they could only do doubleshot legends parallel to the longest side, which would cause them to be rotated 90 degrees for the 2u and some of the 1.5u keys.  It has been a while so that may have changed.  Just wondering.

This didn't really apply to Granite R2 (Ergodoxian kit) because those caps were dye sublimated.  I think Deep Space was the last GB to run with a legended ErgoDox kit but I never heard if they got any confirmation from SP on this issue.

I have not...I will check into that, I blindly assumed that was possible. Thanks for posing the question.

What colour are you using for the legends on the TGH caps? Is it WCK or WA or what?

I used WCK in my mockups, it's the one difference you missed in the comparison mockups of the poster.

It's still an Interest Check (official) until SP finds a production slot for it.

It has far surpassed the required votes on PMK.

Okay then, but 1976 was a brilliant year at least I had a huge amount of hair flowing from my densely packed head ( I actually looked like a girl back then).

PLUS it's the weirdest looking key-set layout yet devised by anyone here on GH, but it's SA profile hence easy to get the numbers for the buy-in  :thumb: .

Awesome. Nice choices, I think the colours work well, the contrast of the blue on the brown is stronger than the WCK I was using on them. Makes it a bit "fresher".

WCK was a good choice for the white, I thank you for that. I might have gone with something brighter or more towards true white. WCK looks more correct for the theme of the set.

Yup, that's why I'm not grabbing this, I only use 75%s, and this would look weird.
I love the colourway though, super nice.

Well I would be getting the alternate, so I just have to think of the fn row as a 'throwback' of its own. :)

Edit: OR, I just put the right color BB on each of those rows.  I BBs that are close enough in color that I can probably just do that.  Being all row 3, thats not a big problem cause the profile matches better than row 1.

Yes...blanks of all 5 colors.

By default, I would use the colors to match the base kit and primary gradient which would be yellow (TCB) and brown (TGH).
- Would other colors be desired?
- Should they be done as a kit or individually?

1 - TCB and TGH seem adequate.
2 - As a kit, 4 keycaps=1 bump in tcb + 1 bump in tgh + 1 deep dish in TCB + 1 deep dish in TGH.

The set may use a tilde key ~` blue on brown, for those using splitted backspace ala HHKB.

I have been toying with a small novelty set to be part of this group buy to add some 70's flavor to the kit. I came up with a few custom legends and was thinking about using some psychedelic colors. Here are the legends with a many different color combos. Does this seem like a worthwhile set. If so, which ones are the best?

I'd pass on those novelty caps.

The smiley face and yin-yang are awesome.

Peace and "flower power" (just flowers in general) were still pretty big in the 70s from what I can tell (Vietnam War didn't officially end until '75, for example).  But with the pink & purple it just becomes a bit overloaded.

I think the yin-yang nails that 70s kung fu vibe.  BLACK DYNAMITE!

That stuff makes me think of 60's not late 70's. Late 70's was more shock rock, punk and disco than hippies.

Every decade is a transistion, and I think your right...those are more early 70's as it was coming out of the 60's. 1976 would be considered more of the late 70's. The Yin-Yang works, however as the whole karate movie thing is definitely 70's.

Is the purpose of this set to reference specific 1976 memories, or to capture the essence of that time period in the colorway and such?  The thread title has always indicated to me that it can be more broad than the specific year of 1976, but maybe I'm missing something here.
