Black Widow Ultimate wear off the black coat?
« on: Fri, 09 December 2011, 06:36:39 »
Hi there!

I just bought a black widow ultimate and I heard that the black coat is wearing off...And it will sure look very ugly...SO i am wondering:once it's starting wearing off, could I take it off all that black coating completely without deleting the letters?Cause not I would consider to take the keyboard back....

Thank you!

Nope. The keys are completely translucent and are then coated with black rubber and then lasered off to create the letters.

If and when it does rub off look at getting a set of ducky shine keys, or even better, a set of Deck double shots.

Yes indeedy, that's exactly how they are made.

You will have to look into shopping internationally for them of course, but if it means it keeps your board alive longer who cares?

Why do people keep thinking the BWU keys are rubberized? They're just plastic. I've had mine for a couple months now, and there's no noticeable wear on the keys. I'm pretty sure people are thinking of the Lycosa, which had a major key wear problem and rubberized keys.
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.
